You learned SO MUCH growing up! You’ve put it to great use, and your mom and grandmother did a good job. Thanks for sharing it! 🍃

I use a paper bag laid on its side... I shake it and turn the bag at least 2 times a day. Works well, too, and no dust on the leaves. Love basil.

30 minutes at 180 degrees and the pans out of my way! Dried 3 pounds of herbs the other weekend, about a laundry basket full. The house smelled amazing!

Already doing it - with all of my herbs! 😂 Although with basil I first make as many basil pesto jars for freezer as a I can, and then when I have enough, I dry the rest of the basil until season is over.

Seriously? I kept it in the fridge & it rotted! The deer ate what was good to them but now i know! TY for showing this method ❤❤❤

Sun and heat ( from the dehydrator) work but they will diminish the flavor as they dry. Cool dry place is the best way.
@angelatrulyАй бұрын
Very cool. I dont need a dehydrator. Did you dry out on the counter? Or did you put in oven? Did you cover the trays?
@WyseGuideАй бұрын
Just dried on the counter! It takes some time, but works great! 🌱

Did you design your yard and garden? Or do you have help from a design company?
@WyseGuideАй бұрын
Everything is my design! I will occasionally have help from a local landscaper on the hardscape features, such as my path, but it's all part of my larger longer-term plan. 🌞
@MeHasNoHandsАй бұрын
How do you stop it from going bad?
@margaretm1606Ай бұрын
It's better to crumble the dried basil when you need it, not ahead of time or you lose the aromatic oils as the small pieces lose them faster than the whole leaves.
@apoorvach4258Ай бұрын
I have a question off topic from this video, how do you preserve peanuts for longer...?

Anything with a high oil content like nuts I store in the freezer and take out small amounts at a time

@maria-margaritabravo8331Ай бұрын
Put it in the microwave on a towel and check on it every 15 seconds. Works well and it's fast.
@karenkaplan8391Ай бұрын
Does it go in the oven….I missed something here 🤷♀️🤔
@WyseGuideАй бұрын
It does not! It dries at room temperature over the course of 6-8 days. 🍃
@emmaharrison1399Ай бұрын
It takes longer than 6 days in a dehydrator?! I’m about to do this,…I tried the microwave: first batch - perfect! Second batch burst into flames! I’ll do some in the dryers and some on trays to compare, if I can keep the kitteh away from the trays.
@WyseGuideАй бұрын
No, it takes 6 days to dry at room temperature. It's much quicker in a dehydrator!
@emmaharrison1399Ай бұрын
@@WyseGuide Thanks! We kept a quite low temperature, and the Greek basil turned out great in dehydrators.
