My parents had that same 1968 Barracuda and that same color.340, Formula S,4 speed factory race car. They bought it brand new from the dealership. I begged them not to trade that car back into the dealership because I wanted it as my first car well, the current owner is the guy who owned the dealership. The car still exists and it’s beautiful..❤❤ what a fabulous job you guys have done…congratulations.🇺🇸🏁👍

Thank you very much! Apparently these cars were pretty popular when they were first came out, but that was before even my mom was born. So unfortunately I don’t have many memories of older classic cars growing up myself other than my grandfathers 69 chevelle SS and seeing other muscle cars and thinking they were awesome when I was a little kid. They definitely have a different presence to them than cars nowadays

Hey young magicians... NO!!! on the side moldings... Can see Bill moaning, but dreading the thought of the drive train being within 20 miles of a sandblaster, then sending Bucko to pull it all.. lol. He's probly like us & a bit surprised about the depth of this job, but seeing a thing of deep beauty in the end. Keep doing what you do team, its real nice to watch from sunny Queensland Australia. Take care.

Yep I don’t think they were quite prepared to see the car cut up to the extent it was but it’s all part of doing it correctly. Patching it together would be less stressful but not last. I hope to get him to remove the drivetrain from the frame as well but if I need to triple back and mask it up that’s what I’ll do. Would be a shame though. Thanks for the support all the way from Australia! Nikole and I have always wanted to see it there. The environment and people both seem awesome

@chrishart20644 ай бұрын
Those trucks look better without the moulding imho but it probably wouldn’t be scratched already if it had them. We used to use so much of that moulding Back in the day that we used to buy it in 100 foot rolls. Just bought the rear bed corner aluminum trim from GM because the stick on stuff would leave a gap underneath. Ahh memories lol.
@HouseofPearls4 ай бұрын
Yep that’s exactly right. I also didn’t think about the door ding protection, although I wouldn’t think would do as much on a lifted truck like that unless it was dropped significantly lower. Which would also cover that scratch too probably lol. Although, to simply everything I believe the customer is deciding on no molding. Which was Jesse and Nikole’s opinion also. I kinda like the molding but could go either way. I think it’s beautiful without it too

@HouseofPearls4 ай бұрын
Thank you! I appreciate the tip also. That could make sense, but the discrepancy of being too long and sitting low is on the passenger side. Additional the existing 1” lip and channel is plenty for the harness to run through or any wiring on either side. Either way, it’s even now! Probably was within factory tolerance before we put them even but we’re shooting for as close to perfect as possible.

Great job on all of those! On the Chevy, I’m a little more of a “purist” on the Square body. I do vote yes on the chrome molding! But, it’ll need a pin stripe to accent chrome molding on that solid color. The molding from the ‘88-‘91 Blazer/Suburban/Crew Cab, may b a better option? Also, paint the grille strip to match the color. I’m supposing, this is an ‘85-‘87????
@HouseofPearls4 ай бұрын
He actually likes the white vinyl in the grill stripe lol. I don’t mind it either honestly. The 88-91 blazer trim is the same style but it’s black and a bit different. Same double sided tape style though which is our drawback to using it.

We’ve been doing this for 8 years now and had a large following on Facebook so we’ve always stayed pretty busy through word of mouth. The support, kindness and motivation we’ve received from Bill, his family and all his followers has been pretty drastic though. Things have improved in many ways since the relationship with OMG and the family that are hard to quantify. I’ve always been picky about the project we do, but it’s even more frequent we are asked to do cool projects and a lot of that comes from the exposure thanks to OMG. Hopefully that answers the question 👍

What size tip do you use for high build primer? I used a 2.0 at 32psi, but it's laying down pretty lumpy.
@HouseofPearls4 ай бұрын
I use a 1.5 for high build epoxies. Anything bigger will put the material on too thick and not allow it to cure the way it’s meant to between coats. It’s not designed to stack thick like a polyester primer which is basically a sprayable bodyfiller. A 2.0 will also make the droplets way too large for an epoxy and not lay smooth like it’s meant to. I’ve even had excellent results with a 1.4 and high build epoxy.
@daveherrington91124 ай бұрын
@@HouseofPearls that's what I'm finding out with the high build I've been using, is the droplets are so big. If I use polyester primer, is the 2.0 the right tip, because I'm pretty sure I was told to use that garden hose of a tip?
