To clean out oil paint brushes, you can use lacquer thinner. My dad used to paint with oil paints, and that is what he used. Don't leave them sit or soak too long in it, tho it will dissolve the bristles on the brush.

It could be used for Mail, but they were first made to store the small 45 rom records. I had a collection of them, and received one of these as a gift....in the early 60s. The box stated it was to store records.

I would have cleaned up the coloured candle jars and used them for flower vases or put a votive candle in them. Their colours reminded me of sea glass. I’m glad you noticed the polka dot dress, that would be a great colour for you to wear.

That is huge! You just got an invitation to Picker Culture. The salvage business is about to boom. Not the same as reselling or gathering metals. It is more about rescuing items from landfill and repurposing, refurbishing, and upcycling. You can make a decent living collecting obtanium for crafters and refurbiishers.

It is for records. So cool in the 70's and 80's. Also, you should make sure Bones is microchipped and on a leash outside. If theres a sudden loud noise, he could get scared and take off.

bonus on the oil paints ...I use mainly chalk paints and know what the costs are, between paints, antiqueing finishes, brushes etc adds up to...Oils are not cheap...glad you are enjoying the relaxation of sitting in front of a canvas with a brush in your hands...

The metal thing is for records. It was used to store 45s, they came in paper sleeves so the wire wouldn't scratch them. They were also handy for the music at parties. Everyone would bring their 45s and they'd put them in the holder for the "DJ" to have them handy and sorted so they could change the records quick.

You were right, the metal "thing" is definitely a MCM record holder. I had one when I was young. This one is for 45's, as a couple people commented. You can see many for sale online anywhere from $15.00 on up. Wish I'd kept mine. I still have a few 45's and a lot of LP's! Congrats on the great haul today! As always I saw things I'd have grabbed. Mostly the furniture pieces. I have a table and chairs on my back patio just waiting to be spruced up or repurposed. Love the art supplies and those awesome bamboo framed pictures! Always shocks me what people throw away!

21:00 My mom says she bought one of those metal things brand new in the 1960's and they were sold for holding your mail. To organize your bills so you don't misplace them and forget to pay them. My mom also said that she had a similar holder for records. But the slots were about an inch wide and the dividers were much taller.

The nerf gun is actually for launching a tennis ball for dogs to play with. Its really fun and shelters use them for enrichment when the dogs are in the play yard
