so beautiful. I'm in the process of figuring out how to make a darth vador tapestry for my brother and I'm pretty sure I'm going to use this basic method to create the design. This was helpful in visualizing my method. Your work is beautiful

This is really beautiful. I love the patterns that you show, but I am not sure how to make them into fully pieces. There are a lot of the designs that I'd like to incorporate into making wall plant hangers, but I am not sure how I would finish it off. Would you ever do demos of this? Thank you!

Wonderful..may I ask..How to calculate the length of the thread..please
@SimplyInspiredbySheena4 жыл бұрын
💙 figuring out your length is always the tricky part for us artists and it depends on the knot you plan to use. As a general guideline your cord should measure 4 times your desired finished length

I can't tell which way the knots are actually being tied & my hand is starting to hurt untieing all my knots, is there a trick this?
@SimplyInspiredbySheena4 жыл бұрын
💙 When you are tying a double half hitch, no matter what angle you hold your filler cord your double half hitch always wraps around from behind the filler with your tail end looped over the side closest to the top of your work (not the side closest to your hand holding the filler cord) ➰ I hope that makes sense? It’s always more difficult describing than demonstrating ☺️ Hope that helps and good luck 💙
@nancycygnal68103 жыл бұрын
Hello, I’m very interested in making this! I’m a beginner and need a bit more help :) You wrote that you used 3 metres of cord. Was that for each string or total? I hope this makes sense. Thanks so much for this tutorial!

What length cord?
@barbaradziedzic62234 жыл бұрын
I'd like to know that too, very poor tutorial, despite nice design :(
@SimplyInspiredbySheena4 жыл бұрын
💙 I believe this tutorial is meant for you to incorporate it into your own designs so the length would differ based on your project. However if this was your main design I think 60 inches (1.5 meters) of 3mm single strand cotton cord would be more than enough and still leave you with a lovely fringe length 💙
@thejetcitywoman2 жыл бұрын
@@SimplyInspiredbySheena Hi! Would that be the total amount of cord for the whole project or is the 60" the amount for each individual cord? Thanks! 🙃

This is gorgeous so gorgeous and I'm trying to follow the tutorial but I'm having a really hard time figuring out which way you're tying the knots because your hands are in front of it :/
@nigariskandrova5 жыл бұрын
Would you please write, what length of cord you use?
@LotsofKnotsCanada5 жыл бұрын
Hi Nigar, yes I used cords that were 3 meters in length and then folded them in half to attach them to my dowel using Lark's Head Knots. Thanks
@trasealee5 жыл бұрын
LotsofKnots Canada it would be awesome if you put the length in the description so we don’t cut our cords too short :)

I'm loving your channel and videos. This particular one is INCREDIBLE! I have two questions: Can you tell me specifically what kind of yarn/thread you are using? I picked up "macarame" rope at my craft store, and it's just too bulky and coarse. 2) I'm having trouble getting my work to lay flat/nice. What am I doing wrong? Is it the material I'm using, or a flaw in my knot tying process?
@LotsofKnotsCanada5 жыл бұрын
Megan Clark-Hutchings thank you!! Yes the exact material is listed in the description (and available in my Etsy Shop)! My advice to get your work to lay flat is to make sure your tension is consistent! It takes practice but it makes all the difference in your work - especially when you are tying double half hitch knots.

Nice pattern, but what is the length of the string to begin with? also, it's not enough to say "just repeat the same sequence on the right", you need to show it too!

I don’t have a lot of cord because of the cost and where I live. I had 1 meter left of each cord. What was reason for having each cord 3 meters long? Yes, I used the exact cord.
