Great videos on the M100. Did you record removing/installing the instrument cluster? Would be great to see the whole process.

no i havent. some things are particularly dificult to film. also sometimes the recording was done, but when looking at it during editing its just not helpfull to anyone watching. theres a lot more effort going into making these videos than meets the eye. I Have been postponing (re) installing the boot release mechanism mostly because im hoping to have a brain wave to figure out how to record such task.

Hi, was this connected to the alternator issue in the end? I only ask because I also have non working rev counter and the car cut out likely due to a faulty alternator..

the alternator light ground is in the same trace as the revs. but this issue would not make the car cut out.

@@tuga2112 Ah Ok, thanks. The car ran for abouit an hour (on the way home from buying it) and then died with loss of electrical power and wouldn't restart as the battery was flat. Could be battery, although it is fairly new, so I'm guessing alternator or worse..

Sounds likely that the alternator packed in. Mine failed 2 years ago on the same day as the work Xmas party. They need to work harder in the cold weather, reason why they fail at this time of the year.
