There's only one way this Lotus is ever going to be right, and that's if the hack job perpetrated by a back street knife man, is chopped out and rebuilt. Scary stuff.

Yay! Fresh SOUP! 'Vintage' late 70's intro for the 70's car as well. :-) Good to see some progress, there's a lot in there though, so along with everything this year a late video is better than a late video creator! Sad to see the trusty winter overalls (and jacket) succumb to the angle grinder, but better than it happening to your skin. I was expecting a weld in section for that panel, but replacing it whole is definitely the better choice. I can see why you got that measurement system, it will be invaluable ensuring the repair is as good as possible. And those who see the car later may never know or care, (like the one who butchered it didn't), but *_you_* will know that it is done right. And that's what matters!

I’m, again, in awe of your dedication and fastidious attention to detail. This is going to be a great car when it’s done. I’ve owned a Lotus before (a 1987 Excel that I bought in 1995) and I know that Lotus ownership is a love-hate thing, whatever anyone says Lotus really does stand for Loads Of Trouble Usually Serious. Like an old Jag they have so much character that you forgive that and love them. You could almost say there are no bad Lotus, only bad owners. They need constant attention and care and if they don’t get it they complain.

I have been an unregistered youtuber forever, but given the nagging youtube do for people to register, I decided to, and Soup is the first channel I have subscribed to. You have inspired me so much, I have bought a welder, and cleared space in the garage. I'm not ready to take on a restoration yet, and will probably start with a motor bike. Love the channel and can't work out why you have so few subs in comparison to other channels. I'll spread the word!

I'd love to do a motorbike lol, it'd be such a pleasure to do something smaller but with lots of detail, and f'all rust ;) Thanks for the sub, glad to be channel #1

@@soupclassicmotoring well, to train mt welding skills, I have acquired a knackered Raleigh Chopper frame, and plan to cut it up, extend it to adult size, and make factory fresh. start small, and work up! :)
