we bought one of these from salvage ( had been hit in the front) for 3500 spent another 1500 to fix the front (Red) and sold for 10,500. But first we got to drive it for several months. It had the Renault engine. The shop used to send me on errands with it .What a hoot!!

2:37. Check out the two smaller gauges. Notice the two on the left are closer together than the two on the right? They all came from the factory like that.

That luggage space is actually huge for the size of the car. If you just carry a can of tyre foam instead of a spare and you use lots of small bags.....

I had one for 5 years in the late 70's and I still mourn the day it was stolen. One friend described it as a tram on steroids it was so fast around country lanes.

For some reason I doubt that, none have been reported as stolen. I own one myself, although with a lotus type47 engine swap. And from what I can see this is not true.

I owned 7 and all were stolen. One was bright pink (a one-off factory paint job). You'd have thought it would have been recovered in an instant but it wasn't. One of the others I had stolen was the van version.

The Lotus Europa is one car that screams out for a Turbocharger ,I know the original Twin Cam was less than 100hp but even with a modest turbo and a swap for better pistons could make 220hp easily in reach . that power would turn one of the best handling cars ever made into the super car realm

Why is the idle so high? Bet it needs a lot of tuning to the carbs, and he does not know how. Oh well this was 5 years ago anyway.
