This video includes a walkaround and drive of my Lotus Europa, a series s2 version of this iconic Lotus sports car. This classic British Lotus sports car has enjoyed a colourful life, purchased by Lotus Cars at Hethel this was road registered in 1971.
Car was sold to me in 2021 were it forms part of my Lotus collection. DVLA records report only 29 Lotus Europa S2 remain licensed or SORN in the UK.

There are not many Europa S2's remaining in UK (Lotus types 54 and 65). Numbers have really declined. I also have an S2, slightly earlier) from 1969 ( type 54) which I have owned now since 1973. The nearest you can get to a race car on the road. Handling is amazing . see Lotus Europa - Wikipedia

I bought an 1969 type 54 in the UK in the mid 90's, body clued thogether from 2 cars and chassis rusted away so I used the leftovers and reg. To build a Banks Europa 62

@@mrbond4722 Very good. I had my Europa restored by Banks on a new chassis , I think in 1997, but havent used it much since, as I went to Europe to work and just stored it, and still have some bits to finish like the wheel arch blanks. How was the Banks Europa 62 ?

Love the S2 in particular with the high, not notched sill like the S3. What are some reasonable engine swaps to replace the Renault? This cart needed a bit more power. Thx for your video

I drove one in 1974 as a potential trade up from the Elan+2 130 which I had a a company car . I am sure the one I drove had a Ford engine like the Elan. Didn't get it, just a bit too tight inside...and we decided to move to Canada where I could not have taken it anyway.

Wow a Elan +2 as a company car….very cool. They are tight inside but used to it now, my esprit has much more room but the Europa just feels great to drive. Elan plus 2 with glitter flake roof is on the bucket list 👌

Yes a federal spec car that never got to the 🇺🇸 U.S. Was part of a batch destined for American but never got shipped, probably due to cars taking dip in sales due to 70s fuel crisis, so lotus converted it back to right hand drive and sold it in the U.K. The Lotus archives refer to it as a federal hybrid s2

Really like the looks of the Europa. Was ogling a red one at the Goodwood Breakfast club yesterday. I agree with the earlier comment about the voiceover too as it would be good to hear about how it drives etc.

I’ve got size 12 feet and as long as I wear the right shoes I’m fine. My lotus 7 is worse for space between the pedals 🍻

I meant to ask are you referring to the stock Renault engine? Very tricky to get parts for now, mine has had the cross flow conversion fitted which is a common mod for these cars, much easier to work on than the lotus twin cam as all the belts are facing the right way 👍

@@rogernorth1605 How many Lotus cars have you worked on, How many Lotus cars have you driven? How many have you owned, ever drive an original Elite? Me...one hundred plus. I do not have dainty feet as do you. This is a universal problem known world wide. Wanna play one up? Your experience obviously fits in a match box. 1968-1972 British Motors of Monterey.. Rolls, Bentley, Jag, Aston Martin, Jensen, Jensen Healey, Healey, MG, Morris, Mini Cooper.... LOTUS..... I have owned 130 cars since 1964. Car biz 25 years retired in 1990. 11 Years retail, 14 years as a factory rep ( District manager and Management Training manager for high line euro auto makers.) Owned 30 Brit cars.. Blah blah blah. You seem to need attention so you can have the last word.
