I certainly agree, goldfish need a ton more space than that. Goldfish are one of the dirtiest fish and they need water to dilute the toxins they release in their waste. I love the design and idea of this project, I just wish he picked a container that was a bit bigger. :,)

Pretty, but I would recommend the lotus being level with the gravel to help the lotus gain the best access to nutrients. I would also recommend changing the water at least every 1-2 days and adding some oxygenating plants such as hornwort (Ceratophyllum Demersum) and a few pond snails to help keep algae at bay.

this is a mini lotus or dwarf lotus, it normally grows in such small pot and can be even used as a desk decoration, if put in a glass vase

If there where more plants with a dirt substrate with a sand cap they will filter the water take all the nitrates & amonia out of the water & in turn the waste from the fish will feed the planets It’s simple do what is done naturally in nature.. it’s the plants that keep everything just perfect for the fish, I have 5 heavily planted tanks no water changes no cleaning no algae no diseases fish are thriving & having babies now all these tanks are over stocked has some would say but if there’s plants they take care of everything including food.. Who regulates how many fish are in a pond in nature ? No one pounds have hundreads of fish healthy & breeding because the plants keep it under control… Peopsaying that’s to small yes it is with out enough plants to fillter the waste from the fish that’s the problem with keeping fish you need nature in that tank not plastic houses & plastic gravel unatral it dosent sustain the life.. WATCH FTHER FISH ON KZbin how to do a planted tank you’ll never have to clean your tank again just sit back & watch life evolve.. dead leaves from ponds put them in your tank to a bio system will develop Good luck everyone

Please don't add goldfish to anything smaller than 30 gallons as they will grow very big, produce lots of waste and have a lifespan of several decades if kept correctly. The goldfish in this video will probably die if they are left in that tiny pot.

Never put chlorine in a fish tank. Depending on where you live, you have to add dechlorinator to your water. Goldfish also need at least 30 gallons of water.

You shouldn’t put fish in without them acclimatising first as it can shock them, also the container is too small. Fish won’t last long!

With a weekly water change they'll live happily. But it is not ideal. This is how they did it in China and Japan for a very long time.

@Lexi Mertens in China they would take a pair (or two) in the house to show to display them to their visiting guests. In this small period (i'm guessing a few days) they lived in a bowl similar as shown in the video. After being displayed they'd be placed back in the pond they came from. I wasn't referring to modern day China Japan or whatever country. For a somewhat short period of time they'll live just fine. The carp you referred to live in "muddy" ponds because they grow bigger faster. They'll be put in small ponds/containers when auctioned. Sometimes even in kiddy pools. But just for the duration of the auction.

Please, i'm not arguing, pointing a finger, or anything else. I simply explained how they used to do it hundreds of years ago. What kind of carp do you have ? I myself like carassius carassius, the crucian the most. Fully grown, round in shape, dark brown with gold. Simply beautiful.

@Lexi Mertens I keep common goldfish in two ponds. Ranchu, fantail and oranda in a big aquarium. Endlers, corydoras, an L number, and amano shrimp in another aquarium. And in the biggest pond i have there are only native european fish. Roach, rudd, tench, prussian carp, a crucian too, sunbleak or whatever you call them (leucaspius delineatus). I think that sums it up. This is what i have at the moment. Where are you from ? If you have a crucian, i assume you're european.
