It depends on the place you live because where i live night temprature rarely falls other than 16'c (no problem. For mollies so far) but they kept in direct sunlight for at least 8-10hr if your area is colder you may get the fish out of the pond for major 2 months keep clean the only once in between oct to nov then leave it to be untill feb, do not fertilize the pont for same duration dont not clean the lotus or lily leaves you may clean the algae if exceeded mollies like to give birth after December in indian weather mostly so if you want fries dont not clean the whole algae leave at least 40% of that every time it covers the pond if you can attach water heater to your pont it would be very helpful if not mollies are hardy fish but they moves less in winter feed them properly

I never pet a snail but if you have plants in your pond snail may eat the leaves 😅 sadly water plant's growth is very slow during winter so if snail eats the leaves roots may get rotten you may lose the plant

It has been suggested that spraying plants with a 1:1 mixture of alcohol and water will kill spider mites on contact. Rubbing alcohol, like any alcohol for any creature, is poisonous in high dosages, and it evaporates quickly doing little damage to the plant it’s been sprayed on. Some people suggest a 1:3 mixture of rubbing alcohol to water, but the stronger the mixture, the more certain you are to get as many mites as possible. Make sure to cover the entire plant, focusing on the bottoms of the leaves where spider mites tend to hang out.

I have a lotus pond. Before adding fish (guppy and Rosy barb) water always remain clean (exception dirt) but after adding fish water become green. Though i am changing it partially twice a week still it doesn't looks clear. For my experience in these year with lotus fish never produce waste that made water dirty looking, but if you have the problem .. may be you should add less fish in quantity lotus pond often get dirty because of algae rott that happens bcz of algae do not get proper sunlight, if anything of this doesn't happen in your pond are you getting algae formation in side of your pond you may clean it by rubbing then you can add 2cm sand (or more according to the plant) and wash the sand before adding it to the pond sand will prevent algae formation also it will make water clean looking

I usually clean up the algae in 6months then it gets dirty yes guppy eats algae untill they have appetite but everything has its limit and a fish like guppy can not eat too much and if they eat too much they produce waste you can clean the pond in every 3months i clean it in every 6month or the fast it gets firty

😝if you are already feeding the fish how would they eat algae? Normally we feed fish twice or thrice in a day of non algae tank ... With algae tank you should feed them once in a day or once in 2-3days unless they are habituate of not getting external food dont overfeed them they wont eat algae and tank will obvs get dirty

Molly breed little slower than gappy so i never got my tank full of them they keep breeding but some how there are only healthy ones survive also they gives 5-8 kids once in 3 months so it is manageable for me 2. I keep fish babies out of pond in diffrent container when i want to keep them otherwise they live there with their habitate 3. I change water in mansoon once in month or longer when water looks cloudy little(in starting) because rainwater is keep adding freshness 4. You can add mosquito capsule available in amazon or you can change water in ever week(without fish) to prevent mosquito larva for 15days or so 5. I added some insecticide in little amount but it works only for 2-3days no success, and larva comes back after 3days and plant leaves get damaged 6 if you dont want breeding choose only male fish there are only male is also available

If u don't want fo Swarm ur pond with Baby Fish Keep Just One Gender fish.. All Males would be better..

Hello Garima, aapki post bahot achchi lagi.. maine bhi new pond setup kiya hai with molly and guppies.. aur 12 guppies bhi jinhe maine ek badi bucket me rakha hai lotus ke.sath.. kya wo bhi algae per zinda reh jati hai.. ye question main isiliye kar rhinhu kyuki mujhe vacation per 12 dino ke liye bahar ja rhi hu.. aur samajh nhi aa rha ki wo.servive kar paynegi ya nhi

Yes there are pigeons who attack on fish you can add duck weed to save fish i had enough lotus leaf Extra tip - before putting duck weed collected from wild clean it proper with potassium permaganate or insecticide otherwise you will have snails

This season is the season of growth of lotus plant so yes you can repott it be sure roots don't get damaged and before repotting first put mixture (sand+compost+soil) in water let it be for at least 3days put lotus plant in it and then place it in shade for couple of day to rest the plant and then put in in direct bright sunlight
