I was fortunate enough to witness this speech live. The entire speech is actually hilarious and controversial with some borderline inappropriate jokes.

A super presentation... I am a teacher in high school and I will show this to all my classes and each year I will show it again and again to let them know that they, the students have choices to make and don't be afraid to make them ... for those choices will develop them over the years and hopefully they will make better choices and become productive members of our country and not want to always be looking for a handout but giving someone who really needs a handout help.....

George Nelson I, too, was a teacher, and had only one rule in my classroom when I was more savvy: “You can do anything you want to do in this class-as long as you are willing to accept the consequences for your choices and behavior. I make my parent calls at 7 a.m. on Saturdays.” It was most effective.

Unfortunate omission of the end of his speech: “If you want to be happy for an hour, eat a steak,” he concluded. “If you want to be happy for a day, play golf. If you want to be happy for a week, go on a cruise. If you want to be happy for a month, buy a car. If you want to be happy for a year, win the lottery. If you want to be happy for a lifetime, put your faith in Jesus Christ. He’ll never let you down.”

We always "succeed" (or almost always because others do not succeed, otherwise we would not say that we succeed. The notion of success implies that others do not succeed, because if everyone succeeded we would not aim for success , to succeed is therefore also to adapt to the non-success of others, or to adapt to it is not to do good ... MR Holtz has, as a sports coach does harm because by succeeding in making his team win he has contributed to the loss of dozens, the humiliation of the defeated, the dismissal of other coaches, the loss of footballers' jobs, their downgrading, the suppression of budgets for the defeated teams. His speech is therefore simplistic, naive, selfish, inconsistent, the truth is that people fight literally and figuratively for insane glory, because you only have to pay to bring the best players on your team, so it's not too hard to win and win the others. It's easier to gag the Olympic Games, in women's doubles, with Serena and Venus William as with your two distant cousins

Here is the full speech without the music. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2SvgKKVeMisrdU On a personal note, I agree with pretty much everything he said exept one thing. You don't have to commit to a religion to be happy. I might be in my 20s, but I knew agnostics and atheists who not only respected other people's beliefs, but who had no regret about the life they lived before passing away. Having faith in Jesus, Allah or else can be one way to help that, but the three rules applies regardless.
@aspenlawler3684 жыл бұрын
Gabriel Gingras time stamp? Don’t remember the part where he said you had to be religious, although I do remember him saying as a part of #3 that he chooses to believe in Jesus but he does clarify you as the individual get to decide who to believe in. Is this the part or is there another?
