imagine sitting listening to this speech from a multi millionaire telling you money isn't important and only being nice matters, Money is the most evil thing on this planet and actors or sport stars sitting saying it's not about the money while they have to much is what is wrong in the world. My Dad was full of wisdom. He said to do all things in moderation. Stay in the middle. As people most of us live in denial. Its a living perpetual lie. A mindset that allows us to do the things we know aren’t beneficial to us. If our hidden facade is exposed we get defensive...,stay close minded. Some folks are NEVER wrong. To be free of this position , take the opposite path. Be open minded. Be wrong and admit you don’t know all the answers. Learn to say we and stop saying I all the time. Let others speak and listen without judgement. Be patient. We know what to do. What is difficult is putting it into practice and consistency. In this world, the cards are stacked against us. Life moves fast. Somebody always seems to need something from you. Your job is so demanding and leaves you tired with no free time. Sound like you? It’s all of us. Never enough money, rising prices, corruption and greed rule the land. As if life isn’t hard enough.,,,Now let’s add a virus, excesses of racism, rich getting richer, poor folks fighting to stay alive while others have more than they could ever spend....LIFE IS TOUGH! Take a deep breath. Now listen to these words very carefully. SIMPLICITY, PATIENCE, COMPASSION. YOU WILL BE OKAY. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. YOU ARE LOVED. ALL THIS DARKNESS WILL PASS.

As a Victim of Violence, I identify myself as a Survivor. It is a journey of healing, each day teaches me something new about myself. When you live with constant death threats, degrading humiliation, intimidation, gas lighting, and under constant tracking and surveillance, it reduces your normal options. You become a survival artist and deeply attached to meditation and prayer. Then you become a Exit Strategist constantly vigilant of dangers. I survived. If anyone is in a relationship that is toxic and dangerous- know that it’s not your fault and you can escape...reach for life!

I'm an overcomer with ambition, an immortal finish line, self respect, a deep love for the attributes God created me with and a desire to use them the way He intended! My habits are purposeful, my hobbies are purposeful, the way I spend my time is purposeful, how I treat others is purposeful and my choices are purposeful, because life is not accidental! Success is not accidental! Joy is not accidental! I applaud you!!! Press forward toward what lies ahead, leaving that which is behind! Go girl GO!!!!!

While i'm not where I want to be, I am where i'm at, trying to improve, not daily, but chipping away slowly. I think the best things you can do, this is just what's worked for me, taking care of yourself more, having self respect, not caring what others think, living my life the way I want it to be lived, eating well and lifting weights/ exercising. I LOVED IT! Especially at the 32 min. mark when that "Big/Strong!" woman came walking through right behind him(giving a rather stern glance) just as he was saying something about "overcoming your fear". I "instantly" took this as being "a sign" that "HE" should be fearful of HER! I smiled about this and replayed it a couple of times, rather joyfully. And then, upon "going back" a bit further into his talk about "fear" I've reevaluated my "decision". "SHE" was likely "MOTIVATED" into "sucking it up"(the fear) and getting out of her seat and walking right across the screen. And that short, but stern "glance" was her "Acknowledgement"(showing off?) of "SEE THERE! I AIN'T AFRAID!". And if THIS "version" is actually "the truth"... Matthew McConaughey is "healing" people as he speaks here!!!

It haunts me that the old guy is unknowingly sitting and listning in the background 🥺, never forget, pause, enjoy, smile, take a deep breath, and remind yourself of how beautiful life is 😊 always try to atleast say hello or compliment someone a day, you never know how much it actually means.

So many people have taken the I don’t give a care about how much someone can do with the words they say can cut like a sharp edged sword stuck in someone’s side in a rib. And all anyone ever does is just keep grinding it in deeper yet it takes only one person to smile and share some happiness and shows us joy and all take the time to love instead of reminding ourselves of what is being hated and eliminate the hatred and only bring joy and peace to everyone. Love this speech.

I agree so much time is spent dwelling on the people who hurt us and say things they don’t mean as a person in a short lived life being angry and complaining it’s so much wasted time and so much of life is wasted being angry and upset and agitated we end up only have lived a unhappy life and it takes our peace and joy away from our souls and every day we are here it eats away the good and pushes out the bad and if we allow the horrible ones out of us .

I have learned this outline for personality evolution in different words nearly 50 years ago. The phrasing was different, but the truths were the same. This warmed my heart and brought a cozy smile to my face.

This is one man's view of the world and himself. Not yours. Happiness is a state of being not the result of a favorable outcome. Some times Happiness results from that. But I can smile just watching my dogs play and it makes me happy. We all have the capacity for good and evil. Sometimes what we are is forced on us and sometimes we choose it based on survival or acceptance.

I'm from Portugal, you can imagine English is not my first language, but I still got good enough be like 12 and saw Contact and all that touched me - it touched me. This person is special. The many different movies he's been in is an undeniable proof. For me this is like, why keep endlessly hoping for Jesus, when you have humans like him around? We are it if we can muster like he does all his life. Even if we can't, someone like him can do. Keep trying to be the best you can for everyone around you, eventually another great person like Matthew will come. Not just Jesus, the fellow person you grew up with. Cheers all.

This whole graduation speech is fantastic, I truly don’t think it’s possible to define how good it is, life changing maybe, but I think the ending is the best…

Karli Binkley There is no God such as the one taught in the man-made Bible so his “talents” surely didn’t come from the God you’re referring to

Well , I must admit. Something’s and people in this beautiful world still amaze me. I believe this world the people on it are always learning. After your worst days there is always the tomorrow perhaps finding a temperance in life will show you life is a Balance . Everything in moderation and balance within yourself will provide the results you seek. I love this speech. Remember always the biggest power in this world is not hate and destruction. Ask yourself who am I? Do I have Love within me? How do I share this with the world? LOVE is the greatest gift you have ever received. Never forget that. Who Are YOU?

Let’s Pray: Lord, my joy is found in you. You are my salvation and my strength. Whatever my circumstances, whatever fears or anxieties I have, whatever darkness lurks on the horizon, whatever is happening in the world around me, you are my salvation and my joy. When the world around me seems confusing and hopeless, I pray that you would fill me with incredible hope in your goodness, grace and sovereignty over all things. Help me fix my gaze on you all the days of my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

My secret to life is living moment by moment, when you live day by day minute by minute your life is less stressful and all anxiety leaves and you are able to perform 4 jobs a day rather just one job. I own over 80 properties, groom dogs, i enjoy our vacations, 4 grandchildren and i jog 2 miles every day. Some will say ," how do I do all this in one day?" I never sit down and I live moment by moment. God bless everyone. Some people will never find the happy medium because their life is drama which is all they will ever know. Humans are creatures of habit. Good luck to those who won't let themselves live their lives moment by! moment. Great speech Matthew

Well said and well respected because of it. He has life experience you can tell by how well he articulates his thoughts. Look at the professors. As engaged as the audience. This is what real wisdom being shared looks like.
