I remember watching them. Boston in the very early 80's. Love love love this song. I was following the Gluons at the time and later married the bass player from the Gluons. That was a great time for local music in Boston.

This is so cool............RIP Lou Miami.........and Jack...........shame........... I came across this band one fun evening at Jack's in Cambridge....... Lou was quite a unique individual...... I just love watching him....He ALWAYS stopped the crowd dead in their tracks and got them going............too bad he is no longer with us :( Great video.......He will live on............... For what it's worth....I actually like 'this' version better than the 2nd version...........

hey hey adrien, i grew up between boston and providence. graduated from high school in 1976. had more great nights than i can count watching your father play at the living room and lupos in providence. my wife and i, poor as could be tried pulling off having your dad and band play at our wedding reception in 1982. we ran short of cash about two weeks before the date and to cancel. one of the (not huge but you know what i mean) regrets because it would have been a bragging right. do well. thanks.

I was telling everyone I knew from Boston... this singer was incredibly fun and captivating on stage. But I also couldn't remember the name. Today I just found an old cassette with some favorite Boston bands, that I compiled. LOU MIAMI, THE DIGMATICS AND TRIBE... RODS AND CONES, THE HERITIX, SHE CRIED AND BIG CLOCK. I got to work with some great local acts at Newbury Sound and WBCN. So much great music in the city at that time.

I just found a compilation Cassette 😳 as I pack my home up to move outta' Oregon. And this made me happy. Took me right back to the Boston Music Scene. I was pretty involved for a minute there. I loved what Lou Miami was doing. And so many great startups that I got to see or even work with to some degree. Big Clock, was one I tried like heck to get signed. Gave a CD to Ric Ocasek. When out to LA and into Island Records. But they enjoyed it and felt they couldn't figure where it would fit on their label. They also mentioned that all their budget is tied to a little band called U2. And they had that sound a bit too much. Tribe was a band I thought would break big... as well as The Stompers. And The Digmatics. I talked with Letters to Cleo, after I moved to LA. But the broke a little bit after the soundtrack work. Rods and Cones, the Heritics got signed and did The Hammer of Reality tour. When the record labels were just signing bands for tax write offs. ✍ it broke my heart with so many acts on the Edge of breaking big. Great memories of great music thoug.

@richyrollins Hi Richy, I was a close friend of Lou's at the time of his death. For the record he did not die of "natural causes", he died of a heart attack in his apartment. Weak hearts ran in all the men in his family and in fact his father and grandfather before him both died of heart attacks at relatively young ages as well.

Whoever put a thumbs down on this...That’s just soooo embarrassing. It’s basically a public confession saying “I am an idiot. Hi! I don’t have taste and I’m so jealous that this song exists and is the most clearly painted reminder that I will never be cool. I’ll give it a thumbs down to show how confident I am because I “understand” music. Hahaha it’s so blasphemous to put thumbs down on this. I can’t even handle how embarrassed I am for those 12 people’s existence. This isn’t an opinion-type situation. This song basically trumps all other songs and defines cool and stirs every rad feeling that lives within me...even ones I didn’t know I had. This is a revolutionary piece. To not like it is to say “Let’s watch El Topo instead of Serial Mom”. Like get over it. You best stop thinking you’re an intellectual because no ones likes an intellectual (a self-proclaimed one, especially). Stop thinking you have taste. Turn off El Topo and turn off the computer. Turn off Surfbort. Listen to this song only and pop Serial Mom into the VHS after flushing Holy Mountain down the Whole Foods toilet. If you think you need to watch something artsy, stop thinking; watch Clerks and shut the fuck up. You’re never getting laid again. Only listen to this song and your luck may change. I honestly am giving good advice. Trying to help the Tarded Twelve. Twist their Lil titmice into a Sister until they’re Twisted Sister. Buy a shirt that says Motörhead and then please please please...GO TO BED! Don’t go on the internet or outside or do anything until you can admit to yourself that you only put a thumbs down on this to feel self-reighteous. Look doofus doce:. No one will ever be as cool as Miami and no song could ever be as cool as this song. Embarace it as much as possible and embody it the best you can. If you’re unwilling to accept the Truth I speak here, you might want to consider hard drugs, medication, or at least give your stereo system away to someone who can comprehend the importance of this. Which shouldn’t be difficult. It’s laid out for you from the first beat to the closing note. Maybe even pull a Van Gough. Send your ear to...hell, me. I’ll taxidermy that shit and hang it up and my wall of the Damned.

Hi Sarah, thanks for defending the song. I knew Lou for quite along time and as a budding video producer and shooter/editor we got together to create this. I even had Lou act in my "100 Years From Today". His passing was tragic and so was the fact that he didn't gain national acclaim. It was a shame. He was a true pioneer and we all miss him, his voice, his aura.

I’m so glad I actually got a true and valuable response on my ravenous rant because, seriously: it puts the cool in my heart of ice 🍯🧊. 🍭💚I am eternally grateful for the existence of it all. Thank you for being a part of it. That’s so cool and also beyond a bummer he passed all too soon. Luckily, praise Kermit the 🐸, he created something that may have reached and will continue to reach those who, although fewer in number, those who are willing to dig to find the gold ; A gift so beyond beyond; those of us who are and were introduced to or found this are forever blessed With it’s awesomeness. He’s too special..I even say..Pioneer of Putting Punk Rock To Shame! I salute you.
