truly awesome. i was searching video's for les paul guitar playing. getting my first true gibson les paul tomorrow. it seems like most of the videos on you tube are of screaming distorted messes that all pretty much sound the same. this is the most useful clean sounding instructional lesson i've found so far. thanks dave. we love and and appreciate you and what you do for the unheard guitar players. God bless and looking forward to more quality videos

20-25 years ago at the iridium, les introduced lou as "the king of the triads" when he was signing my 60s es175 ventura. lou was astonished that i wanted his signature on the guitar also. he created the cloud that les rode on while he played. i told lou he should teach, that there was a world of guitar players who would relish his knowledge and attitude. another unsung guitar hero...

I like the fact that he uses the under-appreciated harmonic minor scale and he's clearly a very able guitarist but does he actually play live with that tone? I can't believe he would.

@ctyuang Downstrokes give a more precise attack and a different tone. A lot of what he is doing is arpeggios and downstrokes may lend themselves better for his style of playing. Anyway, he doesn't only do down strokes - 06:59 he's got some upstrokes in there

@crash98765 Don't get it twisted.... George Benson was a professional guitarist at 8 years old.....U obviously don't have an appreciation of how enormous the guy really is.....Lou Pallo is truly a living legend but name me a song he wrote....?????? Name me a grammy winning song he sang.....Ever watch a dude so smooth on his chord changes that you can't describe it.....????? He don't look that fast but he's too fast for you to jump in....??? Lou is really nice and great to hear but Benson.hhaa
