I caught him live but sadly a terrible live performer for whatever reason but yes I too would have loved to have sat down with him. Rest well Lou baby. 📚🇬🇧👍

I met him outside Manchester 🏴 Apollo in 1996. Set The Twilight Reeling Tour.. Waited in the rain after the gig.. Got a scribbled autograph and gave him a hug. Thanked him for being such an inspiration.. RIP Lou ❤

This album perfectly encapsulates late '80s/early 90s NYC. It describes a city that was on the cusp of gentrification but still grimy and vaguely dangerous. And all under the spectre of AIDS, which for kids in Gen X completely shaped our sexuality as a cohort. I still think this is his best complete album.
