Love the background colour idea. If anyone doesn't have a laminator machine there are small (about 4 x 2 inch) cold-seal laminator pouches (for ID badges) that work well for this. Thanks for sharing this tutorial.

Lou, can’t wait to try this! I wish I could try it NOW, but I’ve got tons of cards to get done first! I do have a laminator I haven’t used for years. Hope I can find the pouches for it! And, after my morning walk, I happened to pick up some leaves from our garden. We don’t have lovey fall colors here in Texas, but some of the brown and part brown and part green ones look pretty cool. TFS!

I've been wanting to get a laminater machine for several years, but not knowing all that you can do with them ,I haven't. But I think I'm going to get one before the price goes higher.back when they were about $19.99. Bit higher now as everything is now. Thanks for sharing. Really likes the out come. I thought you always needed a carrier to cover the laminating pouch before putting through the hot machine? Is that not the case with this brand? A very super technique and lovely card and bookmark.

This is just BRILLIANT!! Oh, I love it. 😍😍. One quick question however. How do you clean the StazOn from your acrylic/ photopolymer stamps? I have StazOn cleaner (ages old) that I use for red rubber stamps, but it is my understanding that it is not for use with the other stamps. Please advise. A thousand thanks

My opinion is that life is too short to worry! 😂 I give all my stamps a wipe with a wet towel and allow them to air dry. If they are really messy from a water based ink I’ll wash them under the tap. With solvent inks like staz-on, they will be stained and hard to remove residue but that won’t affect the future stamping. I used to worry with stamp cleaning solutions but really don’t now.

Love this technique Lou. Could you swipe a distress oxide ink pad for the background as l dont have the reinkers?xxx

Hi! Lou used alcohol ink for the coloured background, not ink pad reinkers. Alcohol ink dries on non-porous surfaces, like the plastic sheets used here. Distress oxide (and other hybrid or water-based inks) won't dry on it...I should say it's not very likely it would. You could do a test...swipe one of your DO pads along a small piece of plastic (cover of stamps or something). Then monitor to see if it dries. Lou said you don't want to put liquid through your laminator, so if it doesn't dry, you wouldn't be able to use it. If you have any StazOn ink colours, those would likely work, though, as they also dryon non-porous surfaces. Hope that helps!

Never would have thought of this. I do have a laminator. Granted it's been in the loft probably more than 15 years, no idea if it does / doesn't work (it belonged to my ex husband)

The only issue I have with this is putting that much more plastic in the environment. Cards aren’t permanent items so very quickly the recipient is going to toss it and voila. More plastic pollution.
