0-160 is extremely fast for only 344 hp with automatic gearbox. Remember! this car has no turbo, almost 1.5 ton and only 16 valves look at the acceleration it's incredible!.. This legend will never die..

With headers and a tune it's probably closer to 370/80, it's well closer to 1400 Kg I believe and has a small frontal area - one benefit of a pushrod engine allowing a low bonnet line.

don't underestimate the torque of a LS6 V8 engine, they put out more torque than most turbos with the same horsepower and they don't have to wait for the windmill to spin up.

220 speedo=200 chrono lol! This gear box is slow af! This car sounds amazing and is imo the one that has the most Corvette feel. I have a C7 Z06/Z07 that I love, but the C5 will remain in my heart as the car that made me dream about sport cars. This car was competing against Ferrari F355. Its performances were as good if not better! And its sound is awesome. A bit too much bangs to my taste though.

the gearbox is fine, it's the slushbox torque converter that's the culprit, it's always a problem, once you upgrade them with a performance converter and a lockout then everything is good.
