@@EXOcontralto I brought it up because many of the AWE INSPIRING systems you check out just seriously overload your recording device. This recording was fairly clean. The system in my house consists of a Dynaco PAS-3 preamplifier, with two Heathkit W5M monoblocks for power amplifiers, two Klipsch loudspeakers (audiophile stuff). Powerful enough to make the neighbors notice, but not quite enough to rattle the building foundation. Love your videos - Keep up the good work!

Prices on them black deaths in the video were about £200 and i think theyre discontinued yet people are still trying to sell them from over 200 second hand which is just ridiculous when you compare it to what edge has to offer

Single SA can be much louder than most people expect. I have mine in a custom 2.25 cb ft custom box with a Pioneer GMD9601. No one would think that it's only 1 SA12 playing. Remember to do the big 3 upgrade too.

Frequency is key to how bad it is on your hearing. When people say 140 will make you go deaf, they fail to understand that the "jet engine" 140dB isnt below 150hz, it is in the khz range (1000-5000khz). Plus your ear canal has a "response curve" of its own where you hear certain frequencies louder than others, this also falls in the khz ranges. So when you get a 155dB demo @ 35hz, yes you can damage your hearing, but very less likely compared to a 120-130dB rock concert due to the frequencies being played. That is why mids and highs that are just over 100dB can "cut through" 155dB bass to where you can still hear the music.

Morten Nielsen Tom runs two alternators; one running the standard car 12v electrical system, and a separate one that runs at a higher voltage, as he is using 14v batteries, so charges them at around 16v straight from the second alt

Cars over there don't run on 12volt. The 14volt alt is for a 12volt batteries, amps, and the air compressor. You need 2volts higher than the battery for it to take a charge.

BASSstarlet a fourth order is great for spl it can hit the tuning frequency at a high volume but it is only good for maybe 4 hertz above and below the tuning most only two or three hertz from its tuning and u r pretty much sitting in the port my port volume is 166.7 and dash volume is 151 so it is a big advantage to be in the port

Sealed = inefficient Ported = slightly better (3db louder) 4th order bandpass = better yet 6th order bandpass = pretty much the best The problem comes with tuning and getting a nice clean output across multiple frequencies (bandwidth). Sealed is very simple and easy to tune given how inefficient it is. If you ever wander into a Breast Buy, you'll notice the shitty bandpass boxes they have set up. They are extremely "boomy" because they aren't tuned worth a shit. Trying to tune a 6th order is very difficult. You can do all the math in the world, and it might still turn out terrible. You're trying to predict how a sub will react when it's in a ported box that's been jammed inside another ported box. Even the slightest errors will detract from output and/or leave you with a one note wonder box.
