Thanks for bringing this back Bobby. I missed this series, it's my favourite on the channel! I have no idea how large your backlog of submissions is (and I don't want to take away someone else's chance for review), but I'd be up for sending in a second submission now I've learned some new skills! Also, that last guy REALLY can play, super dope style as well...

Thanks for the thoughts, Bobby - my song was the first one. I've been working on some newer mixes and though I've been using parallel drum compression for some time, I've only just started using the clipper on the snare and saturation on the drum bus. I will take all of this advice in earnest - thanks!

Hey Bobby love your content, I'm wondering if you could do a breakdown on will Putney specifically his works with Thy art is murder Holy war. I can't for the life of me seem to get a mix anywhere as clear or as loud, its the loudest album I've ever heard. Why? And how?

Yup. Nothing wrong with a square wave *so long as* it isn't crushing anything Also I'm a new viewer and very much appreciate the free pdf, I've been trying to mix a track for a couple months and only just starting to realise the things you talked about. Sadly I need to find time to set up my guitar before I can record the rest of the arrangement. Also, do you recommend splitting your drum sounds into different tracks, or would I be fine to keep using the plugin's own mixer? I don't really want to have to go through Native Instruments support to fix my missing kontakt routing button if I don't have to, since I only use it for my drum library. 😅

Bobby I’ve got a question on this subject. I noticed the waveform on one of the songs is just a block almost, with a few cracks. (Not a waveform with just the peaks chopped off) Is it ok to slam a track this hard?? Will it sound thin and trashy by slamming a clipper or limiter so hard with track volume?? Help Bobby!!
@jessepaul88192 жыл бұрын
What should a proper “mastered” waveform really look like Bobby??!
@codycreepcore2 жыл бұрын
@@jessepaul8819 I think sometimes it can be deceiving to look at a waveform. Sometimes the level of zoom you have can great affect the look of the waveform. I would try and learn about LUFS and LU measurements to determine your loudness and dynamics.
@jessepaul88192 жыл бұрын
I’m making sure my Lufs are right. -14. I just want to know how hard to slam into the dynamics. I clip lightly first w Jst Clip, then just ever so slightly hit the Waves L2 limiter after that. NOW….how hard to hit that clipping/limiting wall. I know, just before distortion…but I can slam it pretty hard in my daw, but when I convert it to mp3 with the highest quality settings??? Doesn’t sound as good

First one gives me a AC/DC Escape Plan vibe lol. Pretty cool.
