I love this song. It's funny, bittersweet, moving, cynical, and vulnerable, all at the same time. It really resonates with me and the experiences so many others have, I'm sure. He's one of my favorite artists (and I like a good amount of music from Rufus and Martha, his children, as well. Rufus' singing voice really reminds me of Loudon's). I'm so glad my parents raised me on this kind of music and now I have explored it and grown to love it even more as an adult. Most people my age unfortunately don't know it.

One of the most poignant and painful songs you'll ever hear, baked in a delicious crust of humour that could be called cynical were it not for the tenderness of his voice.
