People are so prejudiced against BFMV, for me it's one of the best metalcore bands that ever lived, I remember when I was a kid and I heard Hand Of Blood for the first time on an old CD by my sister, man that chorus and that solo made me stop listening to Black Metal XD, I remember how my friends and I wanted to form a band and be like them, best soundtrack of my teenage years!

I think Bullet is the "gateway" band for metalcore, they're heavy and have a lot of crazy riffs and screams, but they're also pretty easy to get into as well. They were my first metalcore band

Their last album isn't BFMV anymore, and the reason isn't in "band doesn't exist without James and Moose", no, it just doesn't sound like BMFV, it's default modern metalcore. It's not bad, maybe it's ok, but its everything else, except BFMV, they lost their firm sound, they lost themselves.

@David Nissim yeah for me they brought me back into metal. Late 80s early 90s it was Maiden, metallica, sepultura, pantera, death etc. Then drifted off into Nu metal Era with Deftones, Mudvayne, Tool (even tho tool isn't nu metal). Kinda faded out of metal for a bit. Heard scream aim fire and then later picked up The Poison which is still my fav from them. Now I'm listening to almost every sub-genre of metal except maybe black. Bullet along with trivium brought it back for me.

10.03.2014 we, about 20 people, who didn't know each other, waited for BFMV at the Novosibirsk airport for 9 hours. Before it Matt got sick and the show in Ekaterinburg was cancelled. When the plane arrived we met 'em inside the airport. The band wasn't ready for that) Padge was the only one who came straight to us and started to talk, give autographs, make photos. He was serious, but looked like he's having fun) Then the other guys came to us too. Gifted Matt an album with the pics of the city, signed by all of us, was very nervous while talking to him) At the show was in a front row, Padge recognized me, waved a hand)) Ah, sweet days) Have a few vids, recorded at this show, on channel) Kinda shitty, but fun) Michael smiled a lot and was very affable) Also really liked his playing and stage presence. Pro is pro)

I’ve always like bfmvt they are all great musicians and I really like how both guitar players are really good! Back when they were freak making noise most everyone else was just playing chugga chugga breakdowns. I wouldn’t say they invented a new style of music because everyone was playing heavy music with really brite clean vocals and screaming so they were relevant in that regard but they were also like an updated version of Metallica more poppy but more metal too with these fast poppy guitar riffs that a 15 year old girl and a 45 year old man could both like, they were playing solos when most bands did chugga chugga break downs inplace of solos just a great band truly talented.

Totally agree. I also miss Jason and Moose. It sucks that they left. BUT they changed my mind when I saw them for the Gravity tour. The Gravity stuff works well live, there are lots of singalong parts, and that’s what they were going for. I went with my GF at that time and if it wasn’t for Gravity she wouldn’t even have gone with me. I first saw them at their peak for Temper Temper. That show was very different, lots of moshing, wall of death and circle pits. That stuff also worked live. I’m not diggin the new song but I‘m sure as a whole album it will work out fine. It always has with Bullet.

When I compare the riffs of their earlier years with the newer ones, it`s like there are two complete different guitarists

Such a great guy from what I've seen and heard of him over the years. Funny how he can pin down exactly which songs and riffs fascinated him and made him pick up the guitar. I tell you now, Pagde, The Poison with its riffs was what inspired me to learn heavier tunes and be in bands. Thanks for that, mate!

I heard Scream Aim Fire for the first time when my pal gave me his iPod because there was an odd number of us and I had to sit alone on the bus so I just listened to that on the way up to west highland way from our high school in East Dunbartonshire and my life was changed when I heard That honestly.

kinda sad that bullet went from all these creative one of a kind riffs to taararataararataararataarara one string bullshit. It may speak words about what people today are capable of taking in or about the path that bullet took throughout the years with Matt in the lead.

For those out of the loop: BFMV is coming up with a new album that's gonna be "very heavy and technical". They have a new song "knives" out which is heavy but sadly no solo. I wish they did something like trivium where they stream on twitch and KZbin
