Just enough bass to hold the mix together, enough mids to sounds lively wothout going into honk terrirtory, and enough treble to cut through. Sounds like his bass is Mid low heavy on settings. A tad bit muddy but not drifiting into sludge metal territory

Athenar slammed and broke his bass when I saw Midnight play! He gave it to a guy in front of the crowd; I still remember that guy holding the bass while Kreator played their set, the bass' neck split in two and the strings were flipping all around! Freakin awesome guy!

When i saw midnight, at the end of the last song while they were still playing, he was holding the bass by the strings and slamming it around until the strings broke and then was smacking them into the pickups and threw the bass around and it was just glorious noisy chaos

I loved all the Midnight albums on Hell's Headbangers but it was so cool when he signed on with Metal Blade. Satanic Royalty is still my favorite album, mainly because of "lust, filth, and sleaze" but Rebirth by Blasphemy definitely takes second place

Overdrive (lots of it), fresh strings, boost mids, especially high mids then boost treble to your taste, leave bass flat, then play either with a pick or if you really want fingerstyle, do Steve Harrisp/ Alex Webster thing, which is hitting strings hard so they bounce of the fretboard. Oh, and tone knob at 10 :D
