I think what she was trying to say was at first she thought metal music was scary, but part of her felt interested by the music she was assigned and she still wanted to dance/sing to it. There's an interesting difference in their answers. "Trust your instincts" -- that's advice to a leader's younger self. Su may have had misgivings about getting into the whole metal thing at first, and maybe there were people around her who said it wasn't right for her, but she made the decision to pursue it. "Make sure to warm up" -- Moa and Yui were so small then, they'd just happily go along. No hesitation or second thoughts.
