Christine baskets, along with many other comedians and writers, saved my life. I was depressed and lonely and thought the world would never accept me. I found solace in characters like Christine and the baskets family because they too didn’t fit into a confusing society. This show helped my mother and I heal and bond again in a trying time. I will forever be grateful to Louie Anderson. Rip to a great man and legendary actor.

I was listening to Louie Anderson be the host on Sirius XM's Laugh USA for Mother's day, and he spoke about how he did the role of Christine as a tribute to not only his mother but also to his aunt. then he makes a new letter to his mom about the pandemic and wished he knew from her who she survived the spanish flu as a 7 year old, it was pretty sweet.

Whats amazing is, when male actors portray female characters, they're usually at least to some degree doing a caricature, a mental image of woman-ness... And he is not doing that at all. He is basing this on a real person he knows intimately and loves, and that has to be why this is such a brilliant, convincing personification of a character. Just, wow.

this series was art; it really was a tragic clown thing, I was so sad on so many levels when it ended. Christine was sooo good in it, reminded me of my grandmas or mom too.
