Yes, have to love Louie. You know that is a great jazz big band drummer. But this is not that, and is a latin 16 note feel. There is a pretty cool drummer of that era (not going to name him) that would have just been too rat-a-tat bang here. Louie is a musician and is a musician's drummer.

If you're talking about Buddy Rich, that invalid and overused criticism is ridiculous. There are plenty of examples of Buddy holding back when that's what was called for.
