Louis is such an underrated musician. He's done some incredible session work. Bass with the Late Show, drums with Marcus Miller and Theo Katzman. And to top it all of, a voice like that..

I came from Boston 10+ years ago and was seeing him regularly, Luis can play everything and anything he's one of the most talented musicians I've ever seen and that's bar none.

thank you for that comment because I thought I recognized his name because of a fantastic unbelievable drummer named Louis Cato and I thought surely this couldn't be the same guy. Well, it is. Mind blown!❤️🥰🌹👏👏👏💝🥰🌞

I had the pleasure of cam oping on a few of Theo's videos and Louis was playing drums. His talent is immediately recognizable.

Louis is truly incredible. But "underrated" is a very overused word. He has a fantastic creative platform on Colbert, and this is the NPR Tiny Desk which showcases world-class talent. So, no. Not really underrated.

Louis Cato is one of the best musicians I've ever seen. I discovered him long time ago playing bass extremely well with Eric Krasno and Adam Deitch in a band called Chapter 2. Then I discovered playing drums with Marcus Miller. Then, he published his 1st album playing ALL the instruments (bass, guitar, drums, keyboards, voice, etc.). In conclusion, he is an underrated and incredibly talented musician 🙌🏼

For "Unsightly Room" alone I would have considered this a good day. But more than the lyrics, I found the performance to be a touchstone of empathy. In listening I felt uncomfortably heard, and loved anyway. Thanks NPR for these introductions made with such care. Not since a house concert decades ago given by Vance Gilbert have I heard such meaning and intimacy conveyed with such delicate skill in a live performance! Now off to collect the Louis Cato catalog!

I´ve just read Louis Cato Wikipedia page, and noticed he was born in Lisbon (not my city (Oporto) but my country) then I saw he´s not portuguese, and I got a little dissapointed but at the same time relieved because I would consider myself uneducated for not knowing such a talent from "my country". Great tiny desk, keep it up brother Louis and his band.

Everyone on here who's like "wow, I've just discovered Louis Cato" or just learned he does more than Colbert's music should go listen to the album "Mirrors." It's Louis Cato with Michael League and Justin Stanton of Snarky Puppy, along with Becca Stevens and Gisela Joao (2 other phenomenal singers). The 5 of them got together during quarantine and wrote and recorded 10 tunes, each written by a different combination of 2 of them. At a festival I went to a year or 2 ago Louis described it as some of the best music he's been involved with in the last 10 years. The album is phenomenal, and everyone who likes this will love it.
