Louis Pasteur: Biography of a Great Thinker || History of Science

Louis Pasteur (1822-1895) was a French chemist and considered the "Father of Microbiology." He made groundbreaking discoveries in the fields of crystallography, fermentation, and vaccination. We still use his process for preserving food, pasteurization, to this day.

I have a question. Isn't Van Leeuwenhoek also the father of microbiology?

He invented the high powered microscope and saw microbes for the first time, but it was more of a zoo to him. To microbiology, think of him as Linnaeus, but Pasteur as Darwin.

You know what, I like your educational channel a lot better than the Green Brothers. It seems like most of your videos give information without political bias attached. Hank often drops his politics into his science videos, and John's history videos are nothing but political punditry-- commentary. You should (if you get a chance) perhaps do a video on Marie Curie and Nikola Tesla; or maybe on the great Sir. Isaac Newton! Keep up the good work. Not that there also isn't a place for the style of the Green Brothers. I just like to sometimes learn things as they stand on their own.
