You are sending emails with race results in the subject line before the races are even up. Great job covering the races, but completely takes the fun out when you know the results going in. Every point of sail and on every tack Luna Rosa is the faster boat. Whatever the "Magic" was it is gone. Right from the start LR looked like a top contender in the Louis Vuitton series. Up here in the Great Northwest (USA) with cold and rain I'm enjoying this series immensely.

Love the faster racing but a couple of "side to side legs" would add to the technical side instead of just being up and down wind. Like the "old" Americas cup courses. Watching from NZ so not always gunna watch live. PLEASE don't spoil it by showing who won before WE get a chance to see it.

Why even bother posting these videos for people to watch if youre going to show the result in the thumbnail? The entire AC media organization is a disgrace this year. The announcers are terrible and blathering. The on-boat audio feeds talking over each other and whining hydraulic pumps is grating and unintelligible -- sometimes fully five people are taking over each other.

They have to generate enough power to move the front sail, both main sails (there are 2 of them) the structures between the 2 main sails (it changes the shape of them) and the entire mast (it rotates).

It’s like chess…they are taking various factors into account and trying to plan several moves in advance…so where is the other boat, what are they doing and importantly what is looking to be the favored side in terms of wind speed and direction.

Design flaw? As if you know! There's a lot more factors at play than cyclor power and aero drag of the hull. Principally, sail and foil areas, and last minute injury to helmsman. Also, wind strength. A small hull is great for windier conditions expected in a few weeks. But do you design a boat to win THE Cup, or just the challenger series. And who knows, maybe the next 5 races will be in big breeze?

Why didn't AM have a Plan B? That clip showing the recumbent cyclors seemed to show plenty of space to revert to upright cyclors. Why no Plan to swap if the recumbent experiment did not work?

​@@paulgushYep, design flaws, you can see also troughout all the videos of both the cyclors of both the boats how much more fatigue the AM cyclors was doing to generate the same Watt than LR ones. Cycling in that position help your aero but it affect your wattage making amount, cause your legs have to cycle horizontally and not vertically, so they have to fight three forces, the gravity, the kinectic power to make energy and the vertical acceleration and deceleration that a boat on waves naturally have. So the legs muscoes cannot focus all their energy upon the pedals but most of them is dispersed to fight that natural forces. Instead a classic cycling position it helps you to produce much kore wattage, cause you are pushing the legs down and the earth gravity will help that leg to go down, tiring you less. Also that position nullify the vertical positive or negative forces of the boat due waves. So yeah, a design flaw indeed by AM.

They have the smallest, lowest drag hull, that never showed it potential because they've only raced in light air. Also, the traditional wisdom that the recumbent position reduces efficiency has to treated with some skepticism, because cyclists generally train in the upright position.

Ben hinted that after the event all data will be released. Then we will know for sure how much power the teams put out. It's not obvious to me AM have a problem -they've not shyed away from tacking duels. But it is hard to tell iith sail adjustment etc. Wait for that with interest.
