Oh you go girl !!!! Congratulations on all three your Birthday Anniversary and your acheivement . I too was a heavy smoker for many years on and off . I had absolutly no problem giving up , one of the lucky ones. However I do understand, my husband struggled extremely hard to give up. He is still 25 years later addicted to chewing gum which he took up, ( we have often had to drive to a shop to buy some if he forgets his packet )after meals, with a drink, etc. you know. Those times ! It’s a massive acheivement .

Hi Sharon, thank you! It wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be but I was ready to quit and I did use patches for a little while and then gum and like your husband I think I'm addicted to that now...oh well at least it's cheaper than cigarettes 🌸

@@NightStarBeautylol yes and gum doesn’t smell either. There’s always a packet of PK gum lying around here though ,lol. My strongest memory of my husband giving up was that everything suddenly smelt fresh. :) I liked smoking and though it wasn’t a big deal for me to give up , I think I’d really struggle more now to give up my cup of tea in the mornings and my glass of wine at night :) our son is struggling now to give up actually. It isn’t easy for him at all.

Dear Maria, your timing couldn’t have been better as today I decided to quit smoking (again, I’ve stopped previously for 8 years and then I started again 🙈) anyhow, congratulations on successfully quitting smoking! Hi Claudia, one thing about giving up smoking is that no-one can tell you to do it. It definitely has to be a personal decision and it may have something to do with me being stubborn lol. I did use patches and gum. The patches I stopped after about 2-3 months and I am still using the gum...oh well, cheaper than cigarettes! When the time is right I am sure you will do it and good luck when you do!! 🌷

Hi, it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be but it's something that you have to be ready to do and noone else can tell you to do it, as it's definitely a journey that you take all on your own. Hi, thank you! One thing I do know is that no one can tell you to quit. It has to be your own decision and when the time is right it can happen. I never thought I would be able to give it up as they were like a good friend. I loved smoking and I would be lying if I said I still don't think about it now and then but I don't crave them anymore, I just like the thought of having one with a coffee. I did use patches when I first gave up and then gum which I still use. You will know when the time is right if you have thought about quitting 🌸
