I agree with many of the commentators, the quiet luxury trend is definitely the most impactful reason behind the so-called popularity decline in high-luxury brands such as LV. Ironically what most people engaging in the quiet luxury trend don't realize is, that Hermes and most times Chanel do not sell to a majority of the population, therefore most people can and do only buy those designers resell. Speaking for myself, (while I understand why,) I still refuse to buy anything from a brand that won't let me purchase brand-new items in one of their bouquets, same as any other paying consumer. It's prejudice, so those two brands and any other brands that are moving towards exclusivity to the rich/wealthy could keep their business.

It's crazy how they would put lesser brands down like LV, Gucci or YSL ( which have quite a heritage themselves), to Hermes and Chanel that discriminate lux buyers in the stupid exclusivity, 'old money ' illusion. Going thru hoops in the belief that 'they finally is deserving to buy' so are way above other lux lovers.

I think people will go back to LV. The reason, in my opinion, is because there are so many different and new styles always. There is a bag for everyone. There is a reason why the houses of LV and Chanel have been around for years!

I always love LV, Gucci, ysl. I almost did the quiet IYKYK trend but can't wrap my head around the simple designs, boring colors even, and comes in a hefty price as well. I already dress in neutrals and my bags are the ones that pull out my outfit. Lately, LV have so many new beautiful designs. I heard of KZbinrs cannot cope up with new releases like, dude nobody said you need to buy every new item out there and no, you don't need to own a Birkin to complete yourself bec they say so.

I believe lv will gain its popularity after the trend of quiet luxury dies down right now everyone wants a piece of the quiet luxury and Hermes fits that description perfectly unless you are familiar with Hermes but for the majority many do not recognize their style and that’s what on trend however lv is seen as a starter brand to luxury for most people and there are new generations that aspire to carry the brand and this will allow lv to stay relevant as they offer different styles and colors of their bags and accessories great topic ❤❤

I think it'll take longer than 5 years for it to go back into popularity- I'm thinking more like 15 years, maybe 10 years if they really change.. but otherwise more like 15. Tiffany is still on it's 15 years of trying to come back

Yes LV prices are very up there now. But I have to say after basically mostly shopping at Hermès in the past 2 yrs, I went back to LV this week. I don’t know if it’s because I’m a bit tired of Hermès and it’s not as exciting after getting many bags, but I’ve been impressed with LV. I saw many rtw, shoes and bags that were looking so good and weren’t super loud. I ended up getting a speedy in empreinte in the new vine color. I’m in love! Is it the same quality as Hermès? No, but it was refreshing to be able to see many bags and make a choice. I had an amazing experience there. Maybe I’m ahead and I’m already tired of this quiet luxury thing 😂.I’m definitely back to enjoying my items with more logos. Ha ha

I will always love LV because they have range and variety. If you said I could have any amount of bags from the trifecta I’d honestly choose the least amount of bags from both Hermes and Chanel purely be they do not have as much range as LV. I don’t enjoy the recent LV offerings and agree that LV releases too many collections and its becoming fast fashion. However, I still choose LV because I can find a bag for every occasion and every look at LV. I absolutely cannot achieve that task at Chanel or Hermes.

I think…. 1) Basic living expenses have gone up so people are using more discernment with their money, 2) People don’t want to be flashy with their ‘haves’ because they don’t want the bitterness from the ‘have-nots’. 3) With all the resell platforms on line, it’s easier to be a target to be mugged and the mugger can immediately get paid, no questions asked.

Hello Oxana! You are so right. There is not many bags for $2000. I remember my first Neverful was in the $700 range. Of course it did not have a pouch and that was fine. Now they are just so expensive. Prices the quality. The Pochette Metis is so expensive now. It is crazy. I feel like it's not as worth it anymore. Of course I still want new LV bags.

You're right but I don't think it has anything to do with quite luxury. Hermes is only popular online not everyday life because you hardly see them. LV and Chanel made a strategic mistake with those high prices because they left a whole market segment without any plan. Other luxury brands took advantage to fill those gaps, even niche contemporary brands. I don't think LV and Chanel anticipated the extend of damage from the Chinese market. Remember demand was high in Asia and that was the most profitable market so they kept raising prices. Hermes has always been about retaining its customer hence the large offerings. To them a lipstick customer will eventually become a quota customer. LV can correct course and I think they are trying to because the entry level customer is the most important customer. LV is also the most innovative luxury brand in terms of design so they will bounce back.

For me the problems are, first the prices. Can I afford it? Yes, but I’m not willing! The prices are extortionary and sometimes the quality doesn’t match. Second, the counterfait market has floaded the markets with the super fakes turning LV products ubiquitous , which for me is a cool water bucket, makes me uninterested bc I know that i’ll be facing tons of bags like mine many not even real ones. So Why pay more for it, I feel like I’m paying that prices to pay for the fake bag the woman next me is using. I’m being punished and being made to pay for LV losses with the fakes. Third, I don’t see LV as a truly luxurious brand.
