Also clean your handles after every daily use. And if you have put lotion on your hands. Hand lotion transfer from your hands will make the leather go black over time.

I just received my prelove LV croissant!! Basically from judging your video I should clean entire bag with water wipes Follow by Cadillac boot cleaner on the straps and brasso for the zipper and that’s it? And lint brush for the inside and fabric softener for fresh smell

Use Huggies Pure baby wipes which is safe for the monogram canvas. But also use a white microfiber towel.

No. It will take off the finish and coloring. I use it only where I am going to paint my design. Illustrate: lts like sanding/stripping wood before painting or staining.

The dollar story has a great $1 cleaner that is great on fabrics. It will get out pen and lipstick, but do not get it on the leather, Totally Awesome. It is in a white see-through bottle with reddish writing.

I wipe it down with baby wipes to get any grime out, and spray it with an odor eliminating febreze to get rid of any smells. A fabric safe cleaner would work, just make sure it’s not one you would have to wash off with water, unless your vachetta already has a patina

I used both as they are different formulas and wanted to make sure the vachetta is conditioned with a large variety of ingredients. This is definitely not required and either one would work on its own!

I do see a small scuff mark on the leather lining on the top of the bag. What do you suggest for that? And also is it too soon to condition this bag as it is only a year old with light patina? Is this the cheapest LV bag? cuz everybody has it. Even me. it was a gift. My straps did crack😔 I also have a turquoise clutch with a LV linc shoulder chain which has tarnished. I just bought blue magic metal cleaner which worked wonders on my MCM bag's hardware...hope I can save it.

There's no way to completely remove water marks, but you can help fade them by wiping down all of the Vachetta with a wet wipe or leather conditioner. This will help everything be a uniform color, and the spots won't stand out!

If its EPI leather the saddle soap will remove the color. Id say try with alcohol free wipes. And then a water and leather cleaner solution to make it milder. EPI leather is different than canvas and leather. So its best to be very gentle and use light cleaning solutions. And test it out on the bottom first to see if any of the dye gets removed when you clean it

Hello, thank you for a very informative video. I wanted to ask for your opinion. I wanted to buy a pre loved bag but the vachetta has a lot of water stains do you think it would even out if I wipe it?

You could probably get them to even out, depending on how dark they are, you can use water wipes or leather cleaner. If you can get an amazing deal and there's no damage to the canvas, you could get the vachetta completely replaced by LV, and the bag will look almost new! It usually runs around $300 give or take for new vachetta, depending on the bag

This was such an informative video! I just purchased a Speedy 30 made in 2001. From the pictures, the vachetta still looks light. Would it be safe to condition it if the leather appears dry in person or could that possibly darken the leather further?

If the vachetta looks dry conditioning would probably be a good idea. It shouldn’t darken it too much, unless it’s close to brand new lightness

Alcohol can be very drying, which leads to cracking, but if it’s all you have, just make sure to follow it up with lots of leather conditioner!

You skipped the inside pockets. Some times the pockets are worse than the whole inside. My SA told me pure water is the best to clean vachetta leather.

Followed all instructions to the tee. The kiwi saddle soap, even after following with several rounds of apple brand conditioner, destroyed the handles of my 5 yo Neverfull. Cracks now everywhere. It was my first LV, I’m so sad. Do not use saddle soap! Ever! Please! Think about it, saddle soap is made for cleaning the crap off of horses SADDLES! Not gentle untreated LV vachetta. $1,500 mistake..... And acetone?!?!? Girl, you’re crazy

Yes, the PH of Saddle Soap is very Alkaline and Vachetta has a very acidic PH around 3-4. Because it is so Alkaline it drys out the Vachetta.

It depends on what is causing the darkness. If it’s dark due to oils and patina (brown), it won’t lighten, but if it’s dark due to dirt (black) it should get some of it off and lighten that part up
