I have a total of 37 LV bags and 2 luggages dating back to 1993 when my parents purchased me my first bag in high school. I can say my bags pre- 2013 are better quality. Bags and SLGs I received after 2018 and my last one this past Feb. the quality has drastically reduced. You literally have to baby the newer bags. I’ve carried majority of my bags over 20 years and still look new. I purchased this past November Speedy B25 in DaimlerEbene and worn it 1 time for 2 hours and the strap has already cracked. I lightly clean all my bags after every use for the past 29 years and my last 4 either have cracked strap, cracked vechetta. I don’t hang them but keep them in their dust bags and humidifier system is always at 35%. Canvas not as thick as well. I just got the Monogram Empreinte On the Go Pm and afraid to wear it as I heard the designs print fades. I also don’t like the discontinued date codes. I like to see where my bag was made and you can’t tell with the microchipped. Luckily, I have a great relationship with my SA and once I purchase she checks for me. Thanks for the video. After seeing this, I’m going to pull back from purchasing. I don’t support the way they treat their employees. You guys work really hard and I’m sorry a company like LV don’t appreciate it. Hell might start back carrying my coach bags. They still look good and had many over 20 years.

Thanks for this great informative video. Girl, I hella cracked up at "this bag is not a part of our collection" 😂😂😂 I recently bought my first LV bag online, a pochette metis in the black empreinte...I used it for the first time this week and by the end of the first day noticed that the color on some areas of the handle and edge of the flap are low key rubbing off....traces of white are showing through. I will certainly be heading to a store to exchange and hope that doesn't happen with the replacement. Major sigh... Anyway, happy you got a new job that you love! Be blessed! 🙌🏾

That worries me so much. I bought one as my fair well bag and I haven’t worn it not once in 1 year and the way their bags are set up I won’t know if it has issues and I wasted a year
@marleecarol2 жыл бұрын
@@maisonmalli Oh, right...I see what you mean. Here's hoping your bag is just fine with no manufacturing flaws. 🙌🏾 I took mine in to my local store this evening, and the client care manager determined that the white marks (that I thought was the paint or glazing coming off) were really some excess glue from manufacturing...she offered to use some sort of eraser looking thing to rub it off. I told her I'd rather they just swap it out because who knows what other areas will start to show the glue peeling off. She removed a bit of it anyway just to show me how its done, and told me it happens sometimes. Anyway, they gave me a new one so my fingers are crossed that I don't have the same issue again. 🤞🏾

I just wanted to share went my LV experience. In Hawaii after I was released from the Navy I used some of my separation pay to purchase a Louis Vuitton Murakami Multicolor Monogram Speedy. I insisted on taking home the floor model. I asked about craftsmanship guarantees and the SA rudely told me there isn’t any and I had one to return the bag unused. This at the time was almost $3000 for the largest bag. I expected some guarantees for my money. But I had done recon once a year for about 6 years before I decided on my bag. I decided to go ahead and purchase the bag. She was the only designer bag I had from 2012 until 2015. I have had her in almost pristine condition for 10 years and I love her. Now for my recent LV online purchase. I had wanted an original monogram speedy for forever so it could be m6 everyday wear and tear bag. In April 2022 I was able to get one online with 4 payments on PayPal. When she came in I was severely disappointed. The 25 speedy is tiny and felt like it was just above thin plastic vinyl. In my personal opinion not worth $1600. I believe that my speedy 40 made in Paris is by far superior to anything made in the US. As a professional you have stated you don’t agree and that’s cool. Although I did just purchase a bag from Walmart.com that was inspired by the checkered speedy and in my opinion it’s better than the LV I returned. Anyway great video and great information. You are greatly appreciated.

Hi there, The quality of bag has nothing to do with where it was made and has everything to do with the canvas change. Literally in 2012 LV changed its canvas supplier; ever since then the quality of bag has gone down. All of the materials are imported from France, the bag is assembled in the US. Thank you so much for watching & I’m so happy you have that first bag that you love 💕

Just want to say that my husband gave me a Neo noe that frayed at the top, returned at the Bev Hill location where he bought it with no problem for an Artsy which I noticed had a major stitching 🧵 problem. Took in 4 months later for repair and they said I can get a new bag. I decided to get a Graceful mm instead (big mistake) and some other SLG’s to make the exchange advantages. I had the Graceful for 12 months and rarely used it because I didn’t like the feel. The Manager at BH gave me full credit so I chose a leather piece (Lock me shopper) so that they make a commission. I get why you quit but they have always been good to me as a customer. Note that my husband has purchased several bags, so maybe that’s why. I used to love the canvas mono but I’m done with that and the leather bag I just got is soft and beautiful. You get what you deserve in life so Congratulations on your new job (Birken/Channel 😁)

Hey Edna, if you think about it though, I get that they are always good to you (honestly they have no choice) but they are being good because they KNOW the bags have quality issues. When I worked there we didn’t even have to ask for permission to swap out a bag for a client; we just did it because that’s how use to taking in defective bags we were. As the number one lux brand in the world; LV has to do better quality wise. Back in the day people use to being there bags in after 10 years for repairs just because of wear. Last 5 years all Lv stores have had to develop a team just for repairs because we are seeing people being back bags they purchased yesterday smh

I miss the days of browsing without needing to have SA at all times. I own many LV bags & part of the fun of it is going back to the store a few times to see the bag I’m interested in before I actually purchase it. I don’t want to waste their time w/ me if I know I am still undecided. I had a repair & they would not let me in w/o an appointment. I had to return the next day. In my opinion, this is LV wasting the customer’s time having to make another trip. Why do they require appointments now? Seems like they will miss out on impulse buys. Thanks!

Thank you for the detailed video👏🏽👏🏽. I have a couple of follow-up questions: 1) Does LV repair service apply to "pre-loved"/"pre-owned" pieces? 2) Is an LV receipt required to request a repair? Thank you.
@calocaana902 жыл бұрын
Yes. I bought a pre owned backpack and sent it in for repair and no receipt required.

Great video!! Interesting your perspective on the US made bags and SLGs..I have found consistently that bags and pieces from the US are made poorly and have quality issues..not the case with France, Spain and Italy. Maybe fluke, but has been consistent in my experience. I avoid pieces made in the US LOL! Anyway..great video :)

Thank you!!! I appreciate you watching. Of course we saw more us bags because most people here are buying us bags. But I def took my my fair share of defective bags made in France; and i would always make a point to say it to clients “see bags made In France are defective too.”

Why didn’t you check the serie number inside? Because once I met someone worked in the store and that person told me you should check inside.
@maisonmalli2 жыл бұрын
Check the number for what? Sorry I don’t know which part of the video you are referring to. And if it’s about the bag being fake. It’s against policy to do any of that. Maybe that person who worked there was willing to risk it all that day lol

Hi. I love your video! I’ve been eyeing the Pochette Accessories in Damier Azure (the Monogram is always out of stock). Could you wear the Damier Azure year round? I would like to use it as an everyday bag and would love your option. Thank you!

Excellent video!!! 👏👏👏 Does it make a difference to order an item from your CA instead of ordering it online (when it’s available online)? Is it just making more work for the CA or worth it help make their sales quota?

I can answer this in part 2 for you!

Hi there, I have a question 🙋🏾♀️ What if I don’t have a store profile but have few handbags from gifts and need maintenance/repair? And can you add a bag that was gifted to my online profile?

You have the insider info, ssooo question. If I need a repair for cracking of canvas - would they replace a bag even if its bought pre loved? It's a neo noe in blue jean which was limited color. So how would they handle my bag? Thanks so much!!!!

I've heard most brands under the LVMH group is not a healthy place to work. Also that they are not compensated fairly.

Should I get alma bb in the print canvas or black soft leather???? Confused

The print canvas; Damier ebene or epi. The Empreinte leather doesn’t wear well in that shape

I don’t agree with the quality of bags being same- made in USA vs France or Spain 5:21 ! Bags that are made in USA look worse then some counterfeit bags! When I was trying to buy a Pochette Metis first 2 bags I received where HORRIBLE quality both made in USA! I decided to risk and other for the 3rd time and I received the bag that’s made in France! Day and night difference!
@maisonmalli Жыл бұрын
We can agree to disagree. Being there 7 years I took in plenty of bad bags from France and I always use to laugh. It has nothing to do with the quality. artisans are trained the same and the materials are imported: the problem is they are rushing to keep up with demand and craftsmanship has fallen to the waste side

Does LV still repair LV bags produced by the French Company?

I’ve never come across having to do one so honestly I do not know but if I had to guess I’d say no as they keep spare parts for only 15 years

Please do a story tell all, I would be so amused to hear your stories. Also can you order a piece from Europe? Happy for your new employment. I wonder what could be better than LV??
@maisonmalli2 жыл бұрын
Hey I have a recent story time up already check it out. Also I’m here to tell you everything is better than Lv. I don’t know not one luxury brand that pays less than Lv does. Everyone pays better and all of the other brands the commission is better. No, you cannot order a piece from Europe 😃

I personally think where the bag made is important. Just personally experience, all my made in France have good quality, but the one made in USA have bad quality. The one made in USA have a skunk smell when it’s brand new.

It’s probably from the marijuana. Half this country is high on drugs now and being an addict is the new norm. I guess this is what happens when we elect a crooked senile president with a crackhead son. Beverly Hills used to be nice but now it smells like a drug infested slum. Seriously, downtown Youngstown, OH smells better.
