This was awesome! I got a repair done recently. My handles were damaged on my alma bb, and I had it less than a year. It took almost 5 months to get the bag back. When I went in, I spoke with a manager who stated that they would handle it free of charge. But when I went to pick my bag up, the lady that helped me that day tried to charge me almost 600.00. But it was rectified, and I was able to get it free of charge. TFS the information!!!

Many buyers/owners aren't taught (by the sale associates) (so they don't realize) that the canvas *shell* isn't really leather and will crack if it's not "babied" right out the gate. You have to be mindful of *where* you store it to keep it from "drying" out. It should be kept in the bag it was sold with or something of similar quality. I learned (on KZbin of all places! lol) you should condition your bag every 6 - 12 months (or depending on how often you use your LV canvas bag) and one of the best ways *to prevent* (canvas cracking) is to use *Apple Conditioner Cream* and *Cadillac lotion.*

This is great information. I sent off my bag to LV March 3, 2022 and they told me I should have it back by end of July. 😩 it’s the all epi leather saddle bag that a paid a pretty penny for. Even the SA said my bag still smell brand new and didn’t understand how it cracked so bad. Luckily she definitely advocated for me and they gave me a brand new one as I only had it for a year during that time.

Try cleaning your bag w/baby wipes after each use or at least weekly. Use leather cleaner & conditioner every couple months on your bag to keep the leather supple. Keep it out of the sun (leathers should be treated like your skin). Keep your bag in a cool/dark place in its dust bag when you’re not using it. Just a couple of tips.

I love how LV repair the bags. I just don’t like how some SA were so rude. One time I bought a bag, 2 weeks later I saw the glazing was peeling. I took it in and she wanna charge me $145 to repair. So I went home. 10 months later I went back and asked for the manager. He agree to send the bag repair for free of charge.

My sales person sent them back to be corrected but it really scared me off getting other items repaired. This happened about 2017 and I haven’t requested a repair since.

I took my 10 yr neverfull today at LV atelier in south coast plaza, i will have all the leather parts replaced and whole inside pocket replaced, my SA was super nice, i had some small cracking on the canvas where the vachetta binding is and she actually took it in, i was nervous itll never be repaired due to the canvas but she processed the repair to my surprise for only 450 with all the work that needed to be done price is really reasonable!!

Hello, I’m so glad to see your video. My case would be complicated. I hope you can see reason in what I want to raise to the store. I had my neverfull repaired and got it back in March 2022. I have been using it for 14 years and the leathers final gave way. I believe my neverfull was immortal. Now however, after using it for less than a year, I let it rest in December, I took it out now and noticed a tiny tiny crack near the sewing of the handle. I was in shock. I know crack canvas won’t be entertained by LV, but I want to question their repair craftsmanship. Less than a year and the canvass near handle cracks. Can I question them on that?

Hey I mean, you can if you want to but the bag is 15 years olds. I don’t see how changing the leather could cause the canvas to crack but perhaps; anything is possible but I think once you get into the age of the bag with them they won’t go any further

I’m not sure if this is for all locations since sometimes it seems like the rules are a little subjective but I personally bought a LV wallet on Poshmark that had its button peeling. I got it authenticated by a third party company and took it in the LV for a repair. It cost me maybe $60 and a few months with no documentation or previous purchase history.

I got my PSM repaired and they stitched it back wonky. Kind of disappointed. And the SA who helped me never mentioned a 5 year rule. She pretty much said after a year, it’s normal wear and tear in which LV will not comp the repair.

Great information. I wish I knew this before I ruined my bag going to a local cobbler. The pipping was damaged & i paid about $200 for the repair. Hi! I have a vintage Sac Plat tote. It’s OLD! It’s hard to even find one online to tell you exactly how old it is. All the current Sac Plat totes have no zipper entry on the front panel. Mine does. I only saw 1 online like it. Well the little screw/button that attaches the handle to the purse has separated from the sidewall of the purse. This is for the handle on the front of the bag, left side. There’s also a tear in the canvas/leather right by where the handle connects on the front right side of the purse. I have pics but didn’t know how to post it here! I wanted to ask you if you’ve ever seen this specific style that has the zipper front entry on the Sac Plat and of these problems can be fixed? Thank you, for the video! Very informative. So far, I’ve been lucky with my pieces, I do switch out every other month or so. I recently sent in my cles (key pouch) to be reglazed, zipper, and pull replaced. Nothing wrong with the zipper or the pull just scratched and tarnished, since I’m already sending it in, might as well get it done. I had the key pouch for about 8 years and I use it daily. For the repair, it will be $90.00 still cheaper than buying a new one. It’ll lasts me another 8 years.😂 I do use leather cleaner/conditioner along the edges and I never never over stuffed it. I’m a minimalist, the key pouch is my wallet. Even though I do use my Favorite, Pallas, Eva, and the pochettes, it’s mostly empty except I only put my key pouch and maybe my phone in it.😂 thank you, again! Have a great day!

I know this video is 7months ago but I just sent my On the go MM yesterday I had bought it 1 year ago but I had only used it once and had put it away but when I took it out again I realize the center close to the bottom have crease..the crease was facing out and the inner lining was creasing inwards..I wish it was a wear and tear but like I said I have only used it once and I only carry 3 phones, card holder, keys, and maybe my sons hat. The SA asked me if I had pack the bag which I flat out told her no. Before I took in I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t a cause of my items. So I tried carrying empty, and with my normal item I usually carry and also put a little more than I carry..and all of that testing my bag would create this deep dent right in the middle of that bag regardless if it was empty or not..they took it in for assessment and told me it would take 24week!!! Nope! Call ask to speak with the store director. Tell her the associate told you 24 months which is unacceptable for a bag you have had for 1 year. Tell her you suspect the associate said 24 months to deter you from doing the repair. Tell her you have had them to think about it and truly you don’t want a bag they had to be repaired after one year and you are requesting a new one. Stand firm. If she doesn’t want to do it. Ask for the store manager’s manager’s contact

Yea…I got my speedy in 2020…took it in for repair a few weeks ago. Canvas cracking by the zipper and the glazing on handles came off. The Emily wallet glazing came completely off. Hadn’t carried the bag but once in the last year because I do have other LV bags. Yet they want to charge me almost $600 for the repair of both items 🙄 I just feel like I spent way too much money on these items for them to be doing this and then I be charged for the repair. It’s not like the bag and wallet got daily use. So irritating. But when I go to pick up my items I’m going to ask why the repair wasn’t offered free of charge since the bag is only 3 years old. I know the leather can be replaced at the top of the bag & the handles BUT it has a tiny hole in the canvas towards the bottom of the bag. Other then that, the canvas looks good for a vintage bag, no cracks anywhere that I can see. I'm reluctant because I'm not sure if they'd repair it. Lv is weird. They typically don’t let you do that as they want the piece to stay original. You can go in and ask if they will do it though. Like if their was a quality issue They may do it. Just gotta try your luck

I purchased some Lock It Mules in summer 2019 in Sicily. Walked on a ground completely rocks. I tried taking the shoes off and walk on the rocks. My feet could not take it. I also have on my 2 canvas bags some stains which I can' t expain. I take very much care on my bags. On the pochette is the structure changed. Do you think thay can repair that or change it for a new bag? Once, I was to the shop and the SA told me for the Onthego MM stains that they can change the part whrere it is and after she told me its not possible to change the canvas part. She tried to clean it and later said that she can't do anything. Generally, I noticed that the quality of canvas bags is very bad and doesn't worth the money.😢

I recently purchased the LV Twist MM and I got a very small scratch on the gold LV letters that you twist to open the bag. Do you know what metal this is? Is it brass? I am trying to figure out the best way possible to try to buff out the scratches.. Brasso?

I went today to LV in saks and mentioned the 5 year policy because my Palm Springs mini in reverse monogram has like a crack/tear on canvas and he said he has worked for the company for 9 years and has never herd of this before… what should I do now? He said I can make an appointment with manager and see what she says

😒 I’m sure he hasn’t. Is your bag less than 5 years old? If so, Make an appointment with the manager. Do not mention the 5 year policy. Say “I met with an associate and I’m very frustrated that I had to make a 2nd appointment to come back for something I think should have been taken care of the first time. I’ve had this bag for under 5 years. Cracking is unacceptable& not the quality I would expect from LV. Everyone knows the PSM has had many quality issues. At this point I truly would like to have a new bag since I presume you can’t fix cracking.” She will either send it out for assessment and assessment will say to give you a new bag. Or she should do the right thing and just give u a new one. If she says no, say “may I please have your managers contact info. I will Escalade this as high up I need to because it’s not ok.” They will fall in line. Trust. Honestly if you are timid and shy they will walk all over u. Be assertive and don’t take no for an answer

I have had it under 5 years I got it in 2019…. And it’s very small but still😐 I called customer service yesterday and they gave me a number (repair service gave them) that apparently it has been approved to exchange but no one ever called it text me back…. So that’s why I’m going back today

If I purchase a PRE-LOVE bag and later need a repair, is LV willing to take the bag in for repairs (I understand that I'd have to pay for the repair) even though I didn't purchase it from the boutique? I have purchased quite a few bags and SLGs directly from LV (not sure if having a purchase history helps) but there are a couple of older bags no longer in production that I purchased from pre-love websites and I'm just wondering if I can bring it in if I ever need to get something fixed. Thank you again for all your tips. P.S. great tip on the perfume bottle refill!! Had no idea!

I had a Danube that I purchased from a resale site and was able to send it in to have repairs done on it. They didn’t ask any questions as to where I got the item and did a good job with it. Hope that helps answer your question.

I took my 2013 Neverful into a boutique to have all leather replaced. I specifically requested that the interior pocket was not changed. It has the old school cursive writing as opposed to the current block script writing. It took 9 months to get the bag back and they changed the pocket without my consent. LV picked up the cost of the repairs but now I’m waiting to see if they can reinstall the original pocket. I regret taking it in and will fight to have the original script pocket returned. This is so frustrating!

I have a pouch that came with a bucket bag I had from years ago. The lining bubbled up. When I brought it to LV they said they didn’t have record of me purchasing it. I told her it came with that bucket bag, which they did show I purchased. She didn’t believe me. This was the store manager. I texted her photos of the bucket bag being sold on resale sites showing the pouch was included with/ the bag. They stood firm & wouldn’t repair even though I offered to pay for the repair. How would you have handled this?

How old is the bag? It’s quite simple; if you are confident that it came with the pouch just Escalade the issue. Contact the store director and ask her for her direct managers contact information hahahah trust me; she will be more than willing to help you then. They usually don’t repair pouches and mostly just replace them which you would pay for but if it’s really old; it may not be available as a spare part anymore. What’s the name of the bag? I can ask my friend.

There is nothing you can do. The original purchase wasn’t made by you. If it was and was within 5 years they would replace it

What is their policy for the fabric Jacquard straps? I just got my speedy 20 with that beautiful jacquard strap 3 days ago and it's already starting to form fabric lint balls and strays from the strap being worn and I guess rubbing against my clothing when carrying it.😭

Right now the repair service has no availability. How long does it normally be down? Also, how do I go above finding a good reliable SA for repairs; due to being overseas military spouse? They do have a LV store here at the galleria mall here in Okinawa, but I’m not knocking about their repair services. Even though I feel it should be the same. When I have repairs I normally send them from here to the states and my mom will send me my items here.
