I have both bags as well, and I can tell you the Dooney and Bourke is made with more quality than the Louis Vuitton. It surprised me myself it’s just a better constructed bag.

I have this D&B same color in size lrg. I have a speedy 35 in mono I like them both for different reasons. Choosing one wld be hard. I feel any bag over 200 shld have feet. Thats the one thing I hate about LV u pay all that money but get no feet. Just subbed

I just bought my first Florentine bag in natural. I really like it! I have lots of LV bags. I treated the Florentine with the apple guard spray to protect from water marks. Thanks for the video!

I’ve never seen the finish on Dooney Florentine hardware chipping off in chunks. They did have a bad run some years ago where it did sort of…tarnish?, but other than that not so much. I do think the hardware adds a lot to the weight, though

The way I see it, that just means it’s made of high quality, durable materials. I just lack it a bit lighter so the weight isn’t as bad on my shoulders.

Florantine Vacetta leather that D&B uses is the highest grade leather and just gets better in time. It’s the bag to be passed on for generations. No comparison. Also all the hardware on Dooney and Bourke is brushed 24 K gold as stated on their website. The hardware might be chipping on the Dooney if you have both metal clip handals attached to same side of the bag do to rubbing against each other I have the same bag it’s beautiful.

Thanks for the comparison, I do love videos like this. Love both bags, but just prefer the Florentine for its looks. As for the zipper, I think you're absolutely right that the LV is more practical. Maybe you'd enjoy DB's domed buckle satchel, because it looks similar to the slouching satchels, but has a wider opening, more like the LV.

Do you find the Dooney florentine to be super heavy? I was thinking of getting one for my laptop and all other things I need to take to work. I am worries about the heaviness

It is a bit heavy, especially after you add in a laptop. The Coach empire may be better for that but if you don’t mind the weight, the Florentine satchel is a GORGEOUS bag!

Yes!!!! I had 8 large ones that I sold because I NEVER used them but kept them because they were beautiful. So much quality leather makes it so heavy. I have 2 regular ones left but if I were to get one again, I would get the mini size
