I feel like people forget that leather is animal hide and thus is naturally variable in tone and texture. Each piece is slightly different and beautiful in its own right. I would prefer to have some variation instead of a "perfect" all over smooth leather. Makes it look fake in my opinion.

I totally agree. Once that was explained to me, I embraced the different textures and it gives it more character as it wears and looks better as it ages in my opinion

I just bought a small and large florentine leather satchel one is slightly pebbled and one isn’t. I find I like the uniqueness of the flaws as nothing is perfect and the hides certainly aren’t. Just my preference.

I agree with your statement. I love the variations and the pebbled florentine is just as nice as the smooth

My large florentine leather satchel in natural is all smooth; however, my small florentine satchel in red has a plethora of pebbling on it, especially on the back of the purse. I love them both, but I prefer the smoothness of my large natural satchel. Awesome video with extremely informative tidbits for other florentine owners 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻

I only discovered the Florentine Satchel this past November and have fallen completely in love with them! My first one was absolutely smooth and perfect, but I have since received some that are not. I do prefer the smooth ones, absolutely, but if they’re textured I want it to be even all over so it looks uniform. I started with the small (classic) size, but have learned that I like a little bit of extra room and love the larger opening of the large size. I have several colors and feel like I have one for pretty much any season or outfit (excluding anything too fancy, of course). I also swear by the Apple Brand leather cleaner, conditioner and rain & stain guard. We spend so much on these bags, I feel it’s one of the best ways to protect the investment.

I have a made in america bag as well. You must have one of the first edition ones, as yours has the traditional Dooney lining. Mines has the red interior lining, so it’s a later addition. Love the bag. Mines took a year of aging to get beautiful. The leather was misscolored when I first got it, it came from the outlet.

Great video! Love all your flo bags! I have the small flo in natural. Mine is three years old, I bought mine at the Dooney outlet in Destin, FL. I did a review on mine a year or so ago but I LOVE mine!!!!

Great comparison! You have some beautiful pieces. I agree, i had the small/regular sized satchel and it was too heavy for me. I am now looking at the smaller sizes, primarily the nano. I have downsized quite a bit what i carry so i think it would be a good everday size. Given the choice, i prefer smooth florentine. Thanks for sharing!

Very nice bags!! I normally re-stuff my bags with the original stuffing and place them on a shelf in the dust bag. If I I love the USA Made bags with red trim. I have a black one and it is one of my favorites. TFS

Thank you! This was a great video to explain the difference s in the sizes. It looked like there were 3 different colours. Maybe the natural…but I don’t know the other two colours. The mid-tone one looks nice. Which is your favourite colour?

Nice video. I think Dooney should use a zipper that disconnects like the front zipper in a jacket, then the opening could be expanded by disconnecting. I have used the same leather products on my Florentine with no problems. My bags are mostly smooth, but a little texture is ok. I don't like significant uneven texture on very visible areas of a bag and have returned at least 2 bags for that reason. TFS

Thank you for your review. Lovely bags. Does the square leather stamp on the front of the bag that sometimes comes in metal mean anything? If the description on the DB website does not state a bag a real leather does it mean it is not real leather?
