My vintage Louis Vuitton Collection by The French Luggage Company. Vintage LV made in USA from the mid 1970's to early 1990s. Beautiful, unigue and classic. Bolts of monogram classic were shipped from Louis Vuitton in France to the French Luggage Co in USA.

Years ago, I met the owner of the French Luggage Company. He started his company in California. He is responsible for convincing LV to create soft sided luggage. He went to Paris and convinced LV leaders that he could create a lucrative new modern type of luggage because up till then LV only made hard trunk like luggage. He negotiated the right to to use the famous brown LV canvas to create new luggage pieces. When his contract expired, LV would no longer be manufactured in California. I have several pieces of the pre-Louis Vuitton French Luggage pieces and you can tell these provided the inspiration for current LV soft sided luggage.

I have my mother’s 1984 French Luggage co. Speedy. The hardware has chipping but the rest of the bag is pristine. She carried it all the time. The canvas is much thicker than what is made today. It has no signs of corner wear unlike my DE Speedy which has hardly been used.

Hi. I LOVE your collection. I am a Louis Vuitton lover!! I typically buy all of my pieces brand new, but recently started taking an interest in vintage LV bags. I recently stumbled upon a French company vintage LV Sac plat. I had the bag verbally authenticated by using an authentication site. My french company Sac Plat bag appears to check all the boxes for authenticity, but it doesn’t have ANY tags on the inside. Is that something I should be concerned about???

I’m just now finding your video - I’m late to the party🫣. Some years ago when I started collecting and authenticating some vintage pieces, I came across history about TFLC and LV’s partnership. Wow. These are absolutely stunning. My late aunt Daisy had an LV speedy 25 by the French Company back in the late 80s. I found an LV speedy 30 by the FC at a consignment store in San Francisco on Haight Street. wanted to buy it but it had a very visible hole in the canvas. And I’m aware that when the canvas is ripped or has a hole that it cannot be repaired. I ended up buying a speedy 40 “made in the USA” but the quality was not good. Louis Vuitton in Palo Alto replaced it twice 🤦🏽‍♂️ Where can I find these vintage bags?

I Just bought an authenticated Louis Vuitton Boston Sac Souple Weekender Bag off Mercari for my Mom's birthday. After doing further research, I'm convinced it's really a French Company bag because it has the Eclair zippers and no date code. I paid $540+tax; did I overpay?

I have a vintage LV French Company Keepall 45 bag if you'd like to purchase! It was my grandmother's and she kept it in remarkably great condition. Except for the fact that it's around 50 years old, it's in awesome shape. I don't think she used it very often. The LV Saks Fifth Ave. cosmetic bag I also have of hers is also in excellent shape. She was well off, so kind of hoarded stuff.
