This is one of my all time favourite songs so when I heard it in the opening credits of Versailles's first ep I was happy but they didn't do it justice. THIS is what they should have done. I hope that in S2 they use footage from both seasons instead of sticking with the old opening. Not only would it make the song more effective but it stirs the blood and gets you excited for the events to follow inside the episode itself. I guess what I'm really saying is...BRAVO.

No, more episodes just water it down and make it almost impossible to get right. More seasons, yes, but 10 is a perfect length, IMO. Peaky Blinders is one of the best shows out right now, and it is 6 episodes per season, and I wouldn't change a thing, it is perfection.

I love the series, unfortunately in real life the two brothers probably rarely even spoke with each other. Philippe was too busy dressing up as a woman and Louis was too busy soaking up every false praise the nobles can throw at him.

Jerolvilladolid. They met and argued the night Philippe died but stopped arguing when the dinner arrived and settled down to dine. Louis went to see him when he was dying and cried. When informed about Philippe's death, Louis said "I cannot believe I will never see my brother again". However Louis never allowed mourning in Versailles. Everyone always had to be cheerful. (This is from a history of the time, not from the show which is nowhere near the end of their time.)

False. They talked quite a lot. Both brothers were very close. Despite Louis personally disapproving of Philippe’s “lifestyle” choices, his brother was probably the only person who could candidly speak his mind directly to the king’s face without any repercussions. As long as Philippe kept his activities to the Palais-Royal (as opposed to openly flaunting it at Versailles) Louis was prepared to turn a blind eye. The king did, however, strongly object to one of his illegitimate sons-Louis de Bourbon, Count of Vermandois-being introduced to that lifestyle by Philippe and his clique.
