Omg I’m a 33 yo millennial, I’ve watched 6 of these and give up every time YOU ARE WAY AHEAD OF ME (this is at least the simplest, but all I want to do is post a preexisting photo & change the background color / maybe tag someone...this is 100% harder than NYU anthro finals and makes absolutely no sense) Every-time I log into insta and decide I’m gonna get back on top of my SM presence I spend 45 minutes screaming at it & end giving up after making accidental story posts ready to throw my phone against the wall and become a Luddite..and it seems like it just keeps getting worse and worse & more complicated with less intuitive UI on the entire internet everyday. Is this actually my ADHD and not my age??? Anyway bless you for figuring it out cause I can’t

My question is - what if you don't necessarily want to take a picture of yourself or video of something, but rather an existing photo or video in your phone's gallery? How do you start with that? Hey Elizabeth! If you're recording right from within Instagram, yes, you'll need to hold that record button the whole time 🙂 There is a "hands-free" option in the stories mode, so you could use that instead though! xx

Yay! I'm so happy that you learned a lot from the video, Daniela! Once you have a story, you'll see "send to.." in the bottom corner, and then you'll see "your story" and a blue button to "share". Simply hit "share" and your story will be posted 🙂 And, yes, it will disappear after 24 hours so if you want something to last longer on your profile then I would suggest posting it as a feed post vs. a story. I hope that helps!

Solomon eke, Instagram doesn't have animated text yet, so ones that you've seen was likely done using another app... such as Canva or Mojo :)

Hey there! I would actually use another app to do this for the fastest/easiest experience! You could use an app such as InShot to edit all of these together and then post to Instagram stories 🙂 Alternatively, you could do this via an Instagram Reel > save the reel > then upload to stories! xx

Can I still be able to operate all the features you mentioned? When you create a story, what you see is what your viewer will see? How do you post it? Hi Valerie! I want to mention that both Facebook and Instagram are great sources of marketing - and they can help attract different age groups which is even better 🙂With an android, some of these features may be different! Also, when you create the story you're correct that what you see is what your viewer will see! In addition, you can post by hitting "send to" > selecting "share" beside "Your Story". If your Facebook is connected, once you hit share then you have the option to share it out to both platforms, too! Ps. Yay! Welcome!!

How do you store it as a PNG file on your phone, then making into a sticker?

This depends where you're getting the image from! If you create the sticker in Canva, then you can download the image as a PNG, send it to your phone, save it on your phone, and then upload it by copying it and pasting it to your story, or by using the sticker element in IG story 🙂

Thanks. I needed a SIMPLE explanation of things. BTW, the camera icon is no longer in top right but I'm sure I'll find it. From your idea I may use stories as little intro's (They only last 15 sec I think) to the next album release. I can use short vids and as you said a photo. The official release date isn't until 4/7 so I'll not be able to find a snippit of my album until the distributor gets it to Instagram. But after that date I guess I can use the snippit from my album? A lot of this new to me. Thanks again !

Hey Paul! You're so welcome! Yes, Instagram has updated a bit since then! Now, you can click on the "+" sign that you see and then select "stories" to create a story 🙂 You could create a video with your sound and then upload that to stories, or, something new that is really taking off on Instagram is Reels - and you could post longer clips there, and then share that out to your story!
