Jay, I lived in Buffalo, New York from the years 2000-2001. Labatt Blue was the go to beer for most folks in Buffalo that drank beer. It pairs so well with those chicken wings Buffalo is so famous for. Of course Buffalo was just across the river from Ontario Canada. And it was likely the "freshest by date" beer they got. As I recall, it did taste better up there.

Grew up drinking Blue in Ontario but now living in Southern California it can be hard to get. Hit or miss if it’s in stock. My go to beer along with Spaten premium lager. Nothing better than ice cold Blue.

In Cleveland labatts is pretty popular . It’s sold in every gas station & convenient store , billboards on the street advertising it. Is it just me that when I drink Canadian beer (and I don’t say this in a bad way) there’s a slight skunkieness to all of them

yes ... that Rothhaus pilsner is one of absolute jewels of the style. Have had a handful of times including on tap at a German restaurant in NJ with the matching glassware which they let me take home when i asked.

I can get Molsen and Labatt here in Indiana, but I kid you not nobody drinks it like to the point that I would be scared to buy any in fear of it being old as hell. Here is Budweiser, Banquet

working on one of these from a 24 oz can up in NJ right now. Decent AAL, but no pilsner ... can't touch my Wernesgruner. Will need to wait until i am back in VA to have that again since Aldi's up here (if you can even find one - much less of them than where i live now in SE VA) don't sell beer. Plus hitting up some of the Polish and other imports I can't find down in VA while I am here ... this AAL not withstanding.

Not a pilsner but as AAL's go .... certainly a good one to have. That 11.5 oz bottle size is a head scratcher though.

I live in west coast canada,. This beer is infamous for being many alcoholics beer of choice. However this is not a common beer here in recent years. Only available in large quantity, which kind of reinforces it's "legacy". I managed to get a 15 pack. It is the smoothest cleanest lager i have tasted thus far. Quite amazingly clean, Not a pilsner by any means, but an incredibly clean easy drinking brew, Amazingly clean and easy drinking. 5% gets the job done. Molson has a lot more flavour than this, but not in a good way. A fresh moosehead is head an shoulders above both, but nothing compares to the chuggability of blue when you are drinking for such purposes.
