I was watching the TV show "Timeless," which is a time traveling show. In this episode they went back to the 1893 World's Fair, where they had a beer from Frederick Pabst that had just won the blue ribbon. I thought it was kind of cool.

Hi, Ronald - having a PBR right now! First time in forever! Purty good it is. I came of drinking age in 1967, and I drank a schitzload of Schlitz back in the day. Haven't seen it around SoFla. Also had many a PBR, which was a fave of my mentor from High School. Spent many a summer evening downing them with the old gang. By the way, another old brand we drank plenty of was Schmidts. No idea what happened to them. Cheers!

I don't mind this beer, not bad for the price. Pour it in a glass while it's nice and cold and it tastes refreshing to me. I must admit, I might be losing my taste for extra hoppy beers, I'm liking the "clean" taste of "generic" beers lately, along with Sam Adams Boston Lager and Ale of course. Nice review.

If I remember correctly longneck bottles used to be reserved for bars and some restaurants and the short bottles were sold in stores. Luckily the Time Wise Shell station right up the street always has relatively fresh PBR. IMO PHR is the finest beer made, it's my primary drinker. Great video Ron!

Man, PBR is one of my main goto beers. I get a little gruff for it here and there, but I enjoy it. I always have. I think it reminds me of my fishing trips with my deceased uncle. I have pulled him out of the creek many times. PBR was the beer of choice. Yes I was 14-18 years old each time, but man.... That PBR always brings back memories.

Used to get this in college back in the mid-80's for fun. It was more of a nostalgic thing as I don't think we even had the term "old school" back then. PBR and Old Milwaukee ("It doesn't get any better than this"} were the ones I remembered that we would get on a lark. PBR was kind of hard to find so we just got it every now and then. But, we actually started buying Old Milwaukee regularly because of the price. They were both good. And now PBR is a cool hipster beer now. Who knew?

I'm surprised your Walmart didn't have it. Mine has 12oz cans in different sizes, 16oz in 4 or 6 packs cant remember, and 6 packs of bottles. Funny how distribution can be so different in different areas.

Great information on Pabst. Great video also. Relaxing, and with the train sounds. Growing up, my dad would drink Blue Ribbon and he let me have a sip. I don't remember if I liked it, probably not being young, but the moment was the most important. I'm going to try a Blue Ribbon again. He switched to Miller High Life over the years and works at a bartending supply company so now it's whatever he gets for free. But those two beers were (are) the major ones.

I was born in 1989 and I've heard of Schlitz my whole life, mainly because my father and older relatives were big fans of it. One beer I've yet to try yet, but will add it on the list. Love your videos keep the coming

I had a very nice 84 Z28 with the 305 HO v8 in high school in the early nineties. It was tan and gold with t-tops. Not a fast or very well built car but cool nonetheless.

Right- the 1982-1992 Camaros tended to be cool cars, rather than quality vehicles, although my father had a turquoise 1991 Camaro RS (5.0 L), and he was very pleased with it.

Ron, I love Church's Chicken. Unfortunately, it's no longer available in Boston. It was around town in the 80's and early 90's. Now it's been replaced by Popeye's around these parts. Which is fine...but, I miss Church's...And I love PBR which is sold EVERYWHERE in Boston. It's more available than Coors Banquet around here, which is crazy. Anyway, great review as always!

I've only recently rediscovered Pabst. It's far and away my favourite American Pale Adjunct Lager. It's a smooth, grassy, nutty palette cleanser between busy Craft Brews; but stands up well on its own.

Fine review Jay! Every so often I will buy a 12 pack of bottles and enjoy the Pabst experience. If they would raise the IBUs 2-5 higher I would drink this more often. But then they would lose some of their core market. How about a Pabst old school beer like that? Pabst gold or Pabst original?

One of the problems with Schlitz is that it is overpriced. In my area we only get six packs of bottles, which sell for $6.99. For only $7.99 I can get a 12 pack of Pabst. Safe to say I almost always get Pabst.

I'm a bit surprised that you had trouble finding PBR. It's pretty universally available here in OKC. I actually really like Pabst for a regular beer. I think it's better than a lot of them. Schlitz is really tough to get here though. I like it even better but I can only find it in one store across town.

I am 46 and I have heard of Schlitz Beer, and I have wanted to try some but I can't find any where I live in Ky. Also Pabst Blue Ribbon which is available where I live is one of my favorites. I have a relative who is always talking about how nasty Pabst is, but I don't get what he is talking about I like it just fine. Guess his taste and mine are just different.

Do you know if there is any store down near where you live, that allows people to order beer online? Schlitz is completely gone from my area, and I'm really upset about it, because it is my favorite low priced beer. I know based on the Schlitz website, that it is sold pretty much everywhere close to where you live. Pabst I can easily find, for now anyways.

Crazy your cousin was 39 when you had made this vid and had never heard of Schlitz. I was born in 91 and I drank my first Schlitz beer when I was 16....I mean 21. ;). Pbr is my go to for sure now, although I used to love Old Style.
