I love this beer. The bready sweetness with the little bit of bright lemon hop character is so refreshing. Great value too at $10/6 pack.

Good review, gents. I like this one. Sadly, it seems less available in my area the last couple of years for some reason. It's pretty great. And I like the cans these days--easier to recycle and less weight, and I usually pour beers into a glass these days, so that doesn't matter.

So you were looking for a domestic beer in this same style that's better than this. I couldn't think of any either except for maybe Dogfish Head Blue Hen Pilsner. I remember it being good but don't know if it's better. Stuff like Lagunitas Pils probably isn't around anymore just like many others aren't. There probably are some pilsners that are just as good or better but they are limited to a local area and don't have wide distribution

Yeah, Yuengling Golden Pilsner can't match Summerfest, I don't believe.

@@ronaldtheriot Yuengling Golden Pilsner I remember being very average but I still want to try it again some day. Its a German style Pilsner I believe. Sam Adams Golden Pilsner is really good but its also a German style Pilsner and not a Czech Pilsner so its not fair to compare to Summerfest. I mean if were not gonna compare witbiers to hefeweizens then we shouldnt compare different euro pilsner styles.

Sierra Nevada always brings it. No other brewery is as consistant as they are across all styles, except one. Stout there is only one.

I really enjoyed this 1. Went through about 3 cases at least. 12 packs are solid deals. The new Oktoberfest Collab dropped recently in my area I'm on my 2nd 6r of that also very tasty. Have a feeling you'll enjoy it to.

I honestly like Peter’s Brand Classics Pilsner from TJ’s more than Summerfest, haha. Peter’s Brand might be too malty/rough for what a Pilsner is supposed to be... but whatever, it tastes good to me, so I’m sticking by it.

great beer great review picked this up a few weeks ago first time seeing it in the can for the price point I'd prefer the bottles that being said sierra nevada makes the best pilsners and lagers but there not common I wish they put out a discount can beer... if you can find dust bowl taco truck lager or hobo pilsner I'm curious what you think those are craft beers from turlock California cheers!

I agree with Dave there's not a domestic Pilsner I would pick over SN Summer Ale. Sixpoint makes a similar style of Pilsner; it's very good, but I prefer the Summer Ale. Too bad this beer is seasonal!

Summerfest is up there with German Style Pilsners such as Bitburger, König, and Jever. Crisp, Hoppy, Floral delicious beer. It is a shame more American breweries do not produce world class Pilsners Nationally . Too me they are either too hoppy in more of the IPL world. Or they are lacking that round malt character found in European lagers. I am starting to get more quality lagers locally in Minnesota such as Uteplis and of course we have always had Schell’s dedicated to European brewing methods and recipes. Prost! 🍻
