This beer is great. I really like the festbier style. I wish it was more popular here in America. I can barely get festbiers where I live.

Good review, Jay. I drank these a few seasons ago, but I returned to this when I saw that Total Wine was carrying it in 4 packs 500ml for like $9.49, which is these days pretty good. I just had one and I think it's fresher out of the can. I agree, a fantastic beer and I tend to like festbier more than Maerzen.

I tend to agree with your reviews because you don't get swayed by the "beer bros" out there. This is an exceptional beer and I'm crushing one in my backyard enjoying the sun and especially enjoying this beer.

Ronald Theriot I drank them both back to back tonight and enjoyed the Weihenstephaner more than the Sierra Nevada collaboration. Both are excellent, but this one is more refreshing and easier to drink. The SN was noticeably heavier.

The same thing here, I have the feeling that the Oktoberfest beers regardless of whether märzen or helles bockbier, earlier than the year before, really strange. I'm looking forward to this season of the year, the only of the six origin oktoberfest- beers which I haven't had were the Augustiner Oktoberfestbier and the Hofbräu Oktoberfestbier. Anyway i would like to try this too, good review !

This one was on tap at Octoberfest this weekend. Very tasty and clean, I do very much like the marzen style though, one of my favorites. Compared to the other marzen (hoffestetten 1810) a bit cleaner and clearer though I liked the 1810 very much as well. These beers on draft always taste better to me

I've never before heard of the Hoffestetten 1810.

yeah, good stuff, at least on draft it was very tasty--a bit fuller, darker and cloudier but likely as it was in 1810--Brewed for Prince Ludwig wedding.

I just saw this for 15.99 for the 6 pack. Insane price and even more so since its 11.2 oz bottles. Im gonna look around a few more stores to see if anyone has it for a few bucks cheaper. If not then I probably wont get it this year. I don't remember how much I paid for it previously but it wasnt nearly this much.

I will buy anything this brewery puts on the shelves of my local beer store. I usually wait until they go on sale and they are selling for about $9 a sixer. I rated this last fall on B.A. and gave it a 4.0 out of 5. I think I read somewhere that this state owned brewery is also a brew master college.

what made you review this beer again, i bought several oktoberfest beers and this in one of them, i'll probaby open it up in a day or so, have you visited all the team ball parks of the shirts and hats you wear, i get to roger dean stadium every march to catch spring training games and enjoyed every visit

Not too bad at all. I give it an 8 out of 10. The new Sam Adams Fall Variety pack has a new one called Samuel Adams Festbier. That's what it reminds me of.

Nice review, bought a 6 pack of this today. Really nice a solid A in my opinion. I don't really get how it has the low scores especially in the style. It seems like a beer by this company in this style would be what all these other mediocre Oktoberfest beers would be compared to. Anyway nice review!
