Really enjoyed your video. Very nice time to visit before the heat, humidity and mosquitoes. Very well done. Please continue to post your adventures. 4-19-23

I always wanted to go to Grand Isle when I visiting family in New Orleans. The drive there looks crazy out of the way. No straight shot from N.O. It looks like I expected. Sleepy but nice

Is a bit on its own out there, but yeah is a nice, quiet place. Haven’t been since the major hurricane that went through couple years ago, but I imagine it’s mostly back up and running 👍

@@JamesPuente It really is alone out there. Thats just how the swamp lands of Louisiana are built. Thin little fingers of civilization surrounded by marsh and water. I find that strangely appealing. Definitely would run when a storm was approaching though.

Yo! Love the Neistat influence to tell cool stories about places you visit. You've motivated me to get out and shoot some shit!

My sister-in-law, her husband and family lived on Grand Isle for many years. My husband, his other sister and I would spend weeks, even months with them. The Mardi Gras‘s were lots of fun. Although they had to leave at every hurricane this time they aren’t moving back. They own Island Daiquiri and Castaways (it was demolished by the hurricane).

Those sound like wonderful memories. I'm sorry to hear their businesses were destroyed by the recent hurricane. I hope they're doing well wherever they've decided to start anew! Thanks for sharing!

What was the temperature and humidity like?
@JamesPuente3 жыл бұрын
80s F during the day, 70s at night back at the end of April. Probably about 60-70% humidity. Constant ocean breeze the whole time.

Is grand isle park still close?
@JamesPuente3 жыл бұрын
As of the last update in January 2022 from Grand Isle State Park’s Facebook page, the state park is still closed until further notice to the effects of Hurricane Ida.

Glad you got to see it before Ida destroyed it and made it unaffordable for middle class people

Thanks, I’m glad I got to do this before Ida swept through. I’d be interested to go back and see how it is now
