I started with moving sales for the first time this week. Today was my first day on LIVE calls. Even though we only worked half a day, I booked my first customer with a $2500 binder fee, which equates to $750 in my pocket and I still can't believe it. I'm super excited to grow in this industry. The best thing I got from this video was the Tentative Reservation. That will most definitely increase the quality of my follow ups.

The hardest thing that any business will have to do is to locate and acquire the right kind of customers. I agree, if you can't do this all the time then you will have issues.

#3 you must roll into the sale but the way you presented it was obviously for local moves with small deposits. In order to get a customer to agree more with long distance is to roll into the sale by being completely silent when presenting the price. Once the customer replies, clear the objection then proceed immediately to confirming the pick up address. Once confirming the pick up confirm the delivery. The next question should be is your billing address for the card you would like to use the same as your pick up? (If yes here) okay and does your name have a middle initial on the card you would like to use? Okay you do? J? Okay what is the card number?

When you say tentative reservation, are you actually taking a deposit?
@565saad3 жыл бұрын
Not sure if he used to take deposit or not but I dont think tentative ones will want to give out card. Best is to schedule them with a diff color in calendar so when you look at calendar you can see right away how many of unconfirmed moves you have
@foldemd2 жыл бұрын
No. This is just dragging the call out a little longer and what he’s saying is a lot of times they’re just gonna go ahead and do it after you’re done, but when they call another company they’ve already done so much with you, the deal will come back to you.

@stephenwilder35255 ай бұрын
Agreed. Educate the customer. Walk them through the process. And work for a legitimate company. Otherwise you’ll be strong arming people into poor level of movers at higher expenses than necessary. Sure, you may make some bank but you’ve got to sleep well at night too.

@Oplowe3 жыл бұрын
I agree with you 100% regarding a tentative reservation. What I do not agree with is your presentation of that to the customer. You need to present it as an "open availability scheduling". Allowing the customer to still make those same changes without any penalties as long as they do so with seven days of heads up time in any scenario. Instead of gathering the entire deposit of $xxxx,xx you can place a partial deposit locking in your rate. Once your ready to set your date, you can reach back, pay the rest of your deposit and get on the next a available route at that time.....

Another way to roll one the sale is to say “so, are we going to be using a visa, MasterCard, or discover? Visa starts with a 4, MasterCard starts with a 5, and discover starts with a 6”. This will intrigue them, and they will typically pull out their cards to verify your theory. It brings rhetorical humor, and it also helps build an attachment of trust.

I clicked on a link promising the best price on moves. The next morning I got 8 phone calls from very excited salesmen working for moving brokers. Not ONE actual moving company called. Rule number one, NEVER NEVER EVER book a moving company through a broker. Call the moving company directly. The best thing to do is walk into their office. Avoid brokers like the plague! A broker is a company trying to sell you a service from another company and claiming they guaranty what that other company will do. If there is a problem later and you call the broker, they will simply tell you there is nothing they can do for you and you have to deal with the moving company, even though THEY set you up with that company claiming how great they are. Got your money, DONT CARE. Do NOT use a moving broker.
@JoshRamsey4202 жыл бұрын
Wrong, every long distance moving company is a brokerage, mayflower, allied, beacon, united van lines. They’re all brokers, the brokers you’re thinking of are south Florida brokerages that sell your job to the highest bidding moving company on a job board . Once it’s in the hands of these carriers which are typically mom and pop organizations the bad brokerages could care less about what happens to your job. Good brokerages like allied, beacon, mayflower, united van lines, and nationwide moving and storage use hand picked, 5 star, VIP carriers that only work with us and we hold them to our standards and if something goes wrong we correct the issue or drop the carrier.

Sounds like pushy tactics. When you give the client their "space" to think about it while letting them know that you'll keep a profile open for them (not asking for too much information), it gives them that feeling of relaxation of not being pressured into your tactics and yet you'll still keep in communication with them, and therefore, in my opinion based on my experiences, helps them feel like they can trust you to actually be there for them during their transition and not just seeing them as dollar signs. I've been told that by many clients so it's just my opinion.
@TheRobincanuck3 жыл бұрын
I agree these are very pushy tactics. Would not work in my market.
