Still a heat wave and I hope we get some rain as it has been very dry for such a long time. I like heat but for all animals (and trees, plants etc.) it is better when there is rain and the temperature is slightly lower. I think the chickens have it the hardest. Fortunately, they lie in the shade all day and eat a lot. Have a lovely Sunday. xxx Eveline

It's too hot for dogs, ducks, chooks and humans. I'm in Hampshire and even on the coast it's still 32°. It's starting to get very wearing now 😒. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday xx

Greetings Eveline! Of course Loulou was jealous about not eating the roosters’ 🍉!Despite the heat, she has not changed her velocity in the eating department! I was wondering if the stones were too hot for the girls although Lou was digging in them and being her watchdog self! 🥵 Three loads of laundry, mowing, and cleaning the fish pool and chicken coop is a lot of work when the weather is comfortable! You have enough energy for an army! Put something special in your milk- but not Fred’s last 🍻! 😉

Here in North Carolina, we finally have some relief from the heat. Last night the temp dropped down into the 60s; today (Sunday) it will be in the low 80s. It's been so hot, even our swimming pool was hot--94 degrees! Take care, cooler days are ahead!

WOW. You can tell the heat is oppressive just from watching the animals. I like the heat too. I always feel better physically and emotionally. The other seasons not so much, too many hours of darkness. I enjoy all your animals. Good care.

Yes it is really hot. Loulou & Coco are inside most of the time. Fred takes his rest and I notice that I want to do too much but I can't so I do everything with breaks. How are you in the heat?

@@Loulou_Friends I go outside for maybe an hour or so to exercise. After that, I have to keep moving about as I can’t be in it for long. I burn very easily, so I have to wear a very high factor sun cream. It’s hell at work! It’s 30c here today. It’ll be 28c tomorrow with thunderstorms forecast. The ground needs the rain tbh, we have a drought here in Yorkshire.

Hi, thank you for asking. My joints are fine at the moment. Nagging pain is always there, I am used to that, it is now wearable and no inflammation so I am happy with that. Haha yes Coco often shows her teeth when she is very relaxed, sometimes very easy when I want to brush her teeth. 💛😘

Ah the poor pups its so hot for all animals. My best mate is a ranger and he said the amount of people that bring there dogs out for picnics staying in the direct sun its crazy. I love the long tounge lolling out. Those roosters 🐓 look amazing, I love the house did Fred build that. X

We're coming to the end of winter here in Australia. I'm so fed up with cold and rain! A 32 deg day would be lovely, just a warm day. It's not really considered hot here till above that from 35 upwards. But, of course, it all depends on what you're used to ☺

Living in the Deep South, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida and a few Caribbean Islands BBQing outdoors so not to heat up the house is a MUST. You can do a lot of amazing things with vegetables on a grill. Soaking corn still in its husk in salt water and lying directly on coals is good eating. Burying potatoes in embers, you can get a good char and its hard to beat that. Portabella Mushrooms on skewers stacked ///, and basted with simple Italian Dressing or olive oil until they're ready to drizzle some Balsamic Vinegar after you pull them off. Simple grilled garlic toast, its hard to pull off because it can cause a flare up, you use indirect heat and a bit of foil over the top to trap the heat but its doable. Once you get the hang of it, garlic cheese toast on the grill is awesome. Eggplant you have to salt, drain, dress in oil or Italian Dressing, cube small and skewer... and cherry tomatoes, skewered and grilled, pull off after it has black patches and toss in a salad its yummy. When cooking vegetables, cut them so they are all roughly the same size, skewer the same veg on the same skewer so cooking time isn't affected, dressing with oil, dressing that has oil helps cooking and dressing after with vinegar is good too. Oh and grilling veg, and putting it into a pot of soup or beans is AMAZING!

Yikes!!!! So Hot!!! Do they have water mats for dogs where you live? My mini's loved theirs.....Fred is doing great with his bbq....you dont have to be a master to make it taste good. I just left my home for vacation.....today at my home it is 60 F and where i am is 90F......but getting ready to go into the Bulf of Mexico!!! I keep thinking back to how wonderful your vacation was and how thankful I am that you shared it.

That's one advantage to hot weather, I suppose. I do a lot of laundry for the local animal shelter, mostly linen and towels and quilts, and they dry faster in the 100° air than the gas dryer. And cheaper, too.

I could see how LL and CC were panting so it really must be pretty hot. Here in Arizona and just about most of the U.S.A. we have central air and heat. It would not be liveable here in Arizona without air conditioning. 🥵

Yes, it is also very stuffy here. Normally if we have hot days then we have cool nights and it is ok. Or we have cold and rain the following days. For that reason we do not have an air conditioner and certainly because they also use a lot of power. In the Netherlands it is rather cold than warm, but now the nights are also warm and it has been very dry for a long time. They expect rain on Wednesday, I hope so because a weather forecast is not always correct here. xx

She had been blind for a long time, but she flew into everything and at some point the other ducks started shutting her out. It was very sad because she kept calling them. She's in duck heaven now.
