"Bud's Beaux Arts" cut's off abruptly at 53:49 and breaks into the beginning of "Mr. Walker". There are other time stamp errors as noted earlier by Joshua as well.

Nobody is gonna acknowledge the fact that more than once the song is cut abruptly. Ok, now I see, your name is JazzCutter so your thing is not let them finish.

When the sax begins it seems like an intrusion on Wes's sublime and thoughtful lyricism. Not sure if this is a production issue or if saxophones are generally too loud for combos....

Thank you. Wonderful album. Do you know who plays the vibes in Missile Blues ?
@aitchie45323 жыл бұрын
There is no vibraphonist in "Missile Blues". The tune comes from Montgomery's first album, "The Wes Montgomery Trio", recorded in October 1959. The personnel are: Wes Montgomery ~ guitar Melvin Rhyne ~ organ Paul Parker ~ drums Didier Schein, I believe you are mistaking the organ, when played in the upper registers, for a vibraphone.
@aitchie45323 жыл бұрын
The vibraphonist in "Bud's Beaux Arts" is Buddy Montgomery, from the album "The Montgomery Brothers In Canada", recorded in September 1961 at The Cellar, Vancouver.
@aitchie45323 жыл бұрын
If you want to hear the whole of "Bud's Beaux Arts", search for it on KZbin. There are a number of entries, including an album of that name. The length of the tune is ±7½ minutes. Have fun!

Am I mistaken or Jimi Hendrix said Wes was among his favorites ?
@johngafa34804 жыл бұрын
Hendrix sometimes used octave playing. That's the most notable thing I see that he might have absorbed from listening to Wes in his playing.

@@hojoinhisarcher I've a funny feeling the very first pressed discs used to play from the centre out. Either that's an urban myth, or maybe it was a very early Betamax vs VHS-style format battle!
