I read that Mr Walker, is Leroy Vinegar, one of the bassplayers Wes played with. In the late 70 s early 80 ties he was for a while im Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on tour in Europe with Clark Terry, Billy Higgins and a piano player. During the jazzfestival in Amsterdam, every other day it was workshops for horns, bass, drums, piano and guitar, the last day. after some playing , lessons etc. we heard that we would really perform 2 pieces, each with them, i was the last one to perform and of course became very nervous, being only 22 and been only 2-3 years on Amsterdam jazz educationon the conservatory, The good news was , that we would play 2 Wes Montgomery tunes, Unit 7,and 4 on six, i was a bit familiar with. I sat straight in front of Billy who never stopped friendly laughing to calm me down, than unit 7 started, i managed my nerves and played the melody, rather well timed and played, Billies eyes became big, and he made his index and thumb the ok sign to me, super friendly, and that gave me just enough power to survive the 3 next chorus not too bad. After that Billie asked, ,,hi brother, where did you learned that,, i didn t know i was a brother....etc.. i said i learned it alone in the basement of grandma. with a cassette player. the other players came apart asking exact the same, except the piano player, he went out in a hurry.....

Credit on Body and Soul obviously wrong. Should read: Green/Heyman/Sour/Eyton. Gorblimey!! Three lyricists!! And the lyrics ain't that good.....mind you, they sound good coming outa Billie's mouth. First jazz that ever hooked me, Reading, 1959. Reading UK, I should add. (I bought The Incredible Jazz Guitar when it came out...)

someone knows bands or jazz guitar players that make smooth jazz like the one in: "In your own street way", it makes me feel tons of feelings and old remembers.

it's a number of Montgomery Brothers recordings of the late 1950's, also known as The Mastersounds, with Buddy M. on vibraphone, Monk M. on bass and naturally, Wes M. on guitar. Among others.
