been listening to Chet for years rainy days, love in the afternoon red wine watching the breakers roll in a table for two a candle burning low mellow as a cello on stage… chetty under the spotlight the last notes die down the crowd thins out tired now convertible top down sleepy moon over the Bay hypnotic and complete a spellbound timeless moment rolling, just rolling along the golden sunrise at the crest of the horizon us growing old together vinyl on the turntable the big windows opened wide curtains blowing and autumn leaves playing by Chet again… where did time go?

His voice here is indeed androgynous and remarkable. I wonder how such a talented musician, born into a stable and apparently middle-class happy household fell into such lows of drug addiction and unstable sentimental life, fathering children and then leaving the mothers and children behind. Not that I am passing a moral judgement here but I think that drugs were both a motor in his creativity and a destroyer of his sentimental and family life and possibly of his voice. Many artists follow the same destructive path, unable to decide which side of life to adhere to, either the wild one or the stable one, choosing both paths at the same time.
