Our parish just completed a pilgrimage that included Lourdes this past October...I couldn't stop crying during the candlelight procession! I'll forever remember the experience!

What does an aerial view look like? Its difficult to imagine how the two above ground churches are situated and is the below ground church beneath one of the above ground churches? How is this all laid out?

Great question! The Sanctuary of Lourdes is indeed an impressive layout with three main churches. Imagine a hillside with two churches built above ground-the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception on top and the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary just below it. The third, the underground Basilica of St. Pius X, is actually built into the ground nearby but doesn’t lie directly beneath the other two; it’s more set to the side, almost like a hidden space designed to accommodate large crowds. An aerial view would show a stunning arrangement where these churches are spread across the sanctuary grounds with paths and open spaces connecting them. I’ll consider adding aerial footage or maps in future videos to help visualize it better!

I would love to see Lourdes but it is probably expensive so i will never see it.

Ive just come back from lourdes 2 weeks ago, we drove from Liverpool & it wasn't that expensive, we stayed in cheap hotels , it was amazing & definitely worth the trip
