It's annoying how fast everyone returns to their belief that Hürrem is somehow the root of all evil after this, but what can you do. And, while, yes, I know how fast and loose the show likes to play with titles and ranks, I'm fairly sure that Aybige, as both a princess herself and a free woman, should be standing ahead of Mahidevran with Hatice, rather than behind her (let alone behind Gülfem!).

@@Sh4d0w5tr1k3 It's a side effect of the show downplaying the significance of the Haseki title as well, to a point, as having Hürrem marry Hafsa while still alive. In real life, the reason for her position being of such significant rank was to establish her as the "senior" woman of the dynasty after the death of Hafsa. It's important to remember, however, that age was considered as important as rank for the Ottomans, so it's not all that odd for Hürrem's children to bow to Hafsa, Hatice, or even, to an extent, Mahidevran as a sign of respect.

How much she had suffered and mow she's mahidrevan's and Mustafa's supporter. Hureem was never rude to her or treated her badly.

@@jennylaw6820 Given the limited depictions of Suleiman's princely harem in the show, there isn't any evidence for Mahidevran having treated Gülfem badly. The only oddity I can point to about her not being on Hürrem's side is that, historically, she was the mentor figure for her that the show turns Nigar into. And, small aside, Mahidevran isn't being "delusional" about her importance. She's a senior harem woman, who is the mother of a şehzade, which is a very real place of importance as, just like Hürrem, she's primed to become the next Valide if called to. The one place where I did side eye her behavior hard in this arc, though, is with Aybige, who she had no right to order around, let alone slap!

I know a lot of people might like Hurrem more than Mahidevran, but remember, in this scene, Aybige Hatun is a princess of Crimea. This is true, BUT at the time, there were king's and king's appointed by the Sultan. Aybige can NOT be higher than BLOOD members of the Sultan. She is related to the Valide, NOT the Sulran himself. As the Sultan and his court hold higher status than their subjects, including appointed rulers, she is below them. 😊
